you have to suffer, 09 May 2023no wonder why the sales go up..Yeah, and unfortunately people who don't know a lot about tech are the main drivers for that. You give a pixel 7 pro to most people's mom's, they won't be able to tell the difference aside from "huh the camera app is different, look at that" so in that circumstance they buy whatever phone makes the carrier the most money and is therefore promoting.

AnonD-1068472, 09 May 2023Exactly! How come people don't understand this? Because they take their brand bias too far and convince themselves blatant lies are true.

AndroidUser, 08 May 2023Pixels are the best android phones period. That's not ... moreI find this kind of funny. You believe that pixel phones are the best, and claim that that's a fact. Except the metric by which we judge whether a phone is best is completely broken. Phones are not one size fits all devices. If you're a gamer you'd probably be far happier with a RedMagic 8 Pro than an S22 Ultra. If you sign documents and mark up things a lot on your phone, you'd probably be far happier with an S23 Ultra than a pixel 7 Pro. If you want a bloatware free experience and don't need a lot of power user features, you'd probably be far happier with a pixel 7 pro than an Motorola Edge 40 Pro. If you do a lot of work from your phone and enjoy features like a desktop mode, stylus support, and cameras that work with software to make video calls better, you'll probably enjoy a Motorola Edge 40 Pro far more than an Xperia 1 IV (or V when that comes out.) If you value colour accurate photos and videos, fine camera like control over that content, cutout-free media playback, easily expandable storage, wired microphone and headphones support, you'll probably enjoy an Xperia 1 IV/V far more than a red magic 8 pro.

This is all to say that there is no best, because everyone has different needs. What's best for you will never and can never be what's best for everyone.

AndroidUser, 08 May 2023Pixels are the best android phones period. That's not ... moreIt's very easy to unlock the bootloader, so I'll give them that. Pretty expensive still for a phone without expandable storage or headphone jack. Like, $700 for the 256gb tier? No thanks. Also I heard that the next pixel will have more rounded corners on the display. Double no thanks.

The crappy Samsung phones are full of bloatware and crapware and waaay to expensive for their value, other brands are even worse exept if you install Custom Roms they can become somewhat usable... Google may occasionally push unstable software but it's always quickly corrected!! So yes people SHOULD BUY PIXELS.

I expect lack of I/O such as the headphone jack and Micro SD card slot.

I wonder if they can price any soon-to-be-announced products competitively. Primarily I'm interested in Pixel Tablet. It's been ages since I had a tablet, would be interesting to give it another shot since it comes from Google themselves

AnonD-1068472, 08 May 2023Android 11 has lesser restrictions? How? (Genuinely asking)Well, there's the Restricted Settings for sideloaded apps, background services restrictions and then some. Although of course A12/13 has it's pluses, I still prefer A11.

Most people look forward to the Pixel 7a and the Pixel Fold, but I'm more interested in the Pixel Tablet. I'm curious about its accessories.

Material Design was the last really good-looking stock Android UI before Google totally ruined it with Material You. I still use it from time to time on my OnePlus 6T and it’s my favorite Android design language thus far.
