Although it is hardware based from what I've read, it seems that it can be controlled electronically. If you look at the lenses in some phones with OIS when recording at 4k you can also see that the lens is not moving as it should if OIS is being used. However, you can see it moving in photos and 1080p video. It would also make sense as for example this year brands like Xiaomi are advertising that they are using OIS with the eis in video and they are advertising this as a new form of stabilisation for their higher end phones. This kind of implies that previously they were just relying on eis for video

Both looks and definitely are way better than most competition especialy samsung midrange.

But yes, OIS can be broken by intense vibrations, but that is not good for electronics anyway really. Unless you mount it to your bikes or your washing machine you'll be fine. OIS parks when it is not in use but it's still susceptible to vibration damage.

Pretty sure the battery is the same just advertised small. No way they keeping the battery that low without changing internals. Still it's a solid phone, but pretty sure it'll be priced at like $400. Which would not be surprising at all.

Hahahahaha.
The ONLY thing that made these phones unique was the huge amount of storage (up to 1TB) and the huge amount of RAM (up to 16GB). For cheap.
Now? We get mediocre, mid-tier specs, and a lackluster phone.
Good job Xiaomi, you do know how to shoot yourself in the foot.
I mean if someone asked me to destroy a company, I'd just send them these Xiaomi dudes and let them do the job because they sure are experts at it.
What an absolute joke.
Ps.: You can get the Chinese models from websites, and they offer 1TB storage and 16GB ram for super cheap BUT they lack most global 4G bands and there is no way to unlock them so I really don't recommend doing this. Shame Xiaomi, shame.

hmm, 08 May 2023Poco series was for performance first to hold the price dow... moreSuch ignorance, the f1 had the best qualcomm soc at the time of launch. It also had a decent sony sensor.
What it did to cut cost was huge bezels, only a small heatpipe, low quality lcd, no useless 2mp camera, no high refresh rate, a bunch of bugs like touch latency in some touchscreen models..

There are phone repair shops that claim can repair the motherboard with new soldering and thermal paste, but as far as I know that is only temporary fix. Even Samsung service center cannot guarantee a permanent fix and will at most give 1 month warranty after changing motherboard. This happened to my mother in law's A51.

SaMdp, 09 May 2023Been using A51 for 3 years, and didn't see any weird i... moreMy mother in law's A51 got into bootloop just when warranty almost ended. She was having intermittent wifi disconnect and display flickering issues a few days before bootloop. Service center said no warranty and accused her of dropping the phone. The only way to repair is to change motherboard and worst of all, the service center cant guarantee the bootloop issue wont return after changing new motherboard.
I found out the bootloop from bad motherboard issue is common on phones using Exynos 9611 from users on Samsung forum. You can read about user complaints on the forum. There are even Youtube videos talking about this issue. You are lucky that your A51 isnt affected, but in case your phone start to have wifi and display issues then very likely a bad motherboard.
