The best thing about Samsung right now is their dedication to mid and low range phones in their lineup getting updates as well.
Customers with mid range phones from other brands get shafted in this scenario.

Anonymous, 11 May 2023Can users copy/move their sms messages by built-in android ... moreDownload an app like the one Microsoft made for SMS inbox management. That would let you back up your messages to the cloud and restore them. I used to use that app long back. Can't say about it now though.

Super Android 22, 11 May 2023Not exactly, my oppo find x5 recieved android 13 before any... moreSamsung is probably the only one giving meaningful updates on lower end phones these days. My friend has a cheap samsung tab, tab a7 lite and it got Android 13 before any of my Xiaomi, vivo devices got it. Also, Xiaomi is especially bad, both in terms of software update delays and bugs.
Can't comment on oppo because I've never used one but I've used other three other Bbk brands realme, vivo and OnePlus and none of them had better software update experience compared to Samsung.

Patrik, 11 May 2023Samsung will be faster to adopt Android 14 for all of its d... moreNot exactly, my oppo find x5 recieved android 13 before any samsung device by atleast 2 months. In some parts of the world the x5 got it in August which i believe was the same month as the pixel line, i got my update mid september in the UK which wasnt 1 of the 1st countries to recieve the update.
Samsung should just have the software pretty stable and for probably more of its product line including their mid range (samsung are poor with software updates on the low end), more than most others including oppo and xiaomi which dont really focus on the lower end phones releasing with the latest android version. (saying that ive not had anything go wrong with my x5 and i get monthly updates and my mates 2020 find x2 pro is on android 13 so samsung isnt really ahead in software anymore for atleast high end/flagship).

It doesn't matter which brands and models sign up for the beta program.
They'll ultimately lose to Samsung, and by the end of the year, most Samsung flagships will be running Stable Android 14 while the devices mentioned in the article would probably be in beta builds.

that's nice, 3 Xiaomi devices got beta. I feel Xiaomi, BBK and Nothing this year can be faster as well as Samsung previously announced.
