"support for lossless audio over USB. This means you’ll be able to connect to audiophile-grade headphones and amps"
If user is using audiophile grade headphones and amps, they will be either using the 3.5mm plug or a USB DAC. Why would anyone use a dumb USB analog connector with audiophile grade stuff?

Anonymous, 11 May 2023Nice subtle enhancements except for Health Connect, why do ... moreso that, G8gle can collect your data too xD

Nice subtle enhancements except for Health Connect, why do I need another bloatware running that shows the same duplicate data when Garmin Connect already collects and organizes all fitness data from the top of the line watch?

            Hopefully this can be disabled.

And? I am the owner of the phone. I should decide what goes on the phone. Android could simply warn the user that the old Android app is bypassing important security features.

They can restrict this feature if they want, but they should at the very least allow users with a computer to send an ADB command that permanently allows the installation of old apps with a warning, reminding users that they have this functionality enabled and how it can be risky to where it can bypass any of the security features that new Android versions have.

Or I could just root my phone to get all of this sort of functionality back, but that makes Android less 'secure' in Google's eyes, but that seems to be the only option right now.

0odle-noodle, 11 May 2023They never removed it. They made it harder for someone to sideload older apps. Soon they would be like "oh, nobody is doing this now", because shocker: most people wouldn't bother, and then they might remove it. I'm sure a lot less backlash would happen because most people would accept that they can do it but don't bother, but now they never did it, so it's not a big deal to them, but it's still a big deal for enthusiasts. Again though, appeal to the general audience I guess.

I CAN'T DELETE THEM, so they are just sitting there taking up space until I delete the world. I love Android.

Bigmeme, 11 May 2023They didn't remove sideloading in the first place? They make it harder. Just like with everything else since like every Android version. I can't even choose where I want a file to be accessed from an app. Only in folders like downloads and documents in INTERNAL STORAGE ONLY! All for 'security' while people who write malware can probably bypass it. Oh wait, they already did with the Accessibility restrictions.

Bigmeme, 11 May 2023They didn't remove sideloading in the first place? They didn't completely but now on Android 13 you can't write files in obb folder which makes side loading for some apps impossible. There is a workaround however, but it's clear they want to remove the option of side loading

Add option to increase volume steps from Android's default 15. Volume is often too quiet or too loud, it really misses one or two steps in between. Samsung has had this for years now, so it's not at all difficult to implement
