Eye tracking is just a gimmick. Like face unlock (which can be faked with pictures) or that Palm ID from LG, or that swinging phone whatever it was called. All such experimental toys are bound to fail. Manufacturer don't solve existing phone problems first

If you ask EVERYONE what they want, you'll never get a consistent idea because everyone wants different things. Instead, decide on a specific group and need, and try to make a phone that fills that role, like a compact phone with good battery life, good camera and decent specs (because most people who want a compact phone don't want high-end flagship specs anyway because it makes the phone more expensive and then they don't buy it).

Anonymous, 14 May 2023Still want motorola ARA concept to be aliveI was also hyped about Project Ara. I suspect that Google bought it to burry it. But it also had some flaws. Just imagine dropping the phone and 15 modules flying across the floor.

I use phone with one hand tho. It's also about a lag, it was just too slow in comparison to hand.

As a person that has black stickers on the SELFISH camera, I can guarantee that this is a drawback , not a feature 🤣

The problem with anything like this is that what people think they want and what they actually will buy are two different things.
(As an example, lots of people say they want a small phone but when one is released very few people buy them)

People are always complaining about something, but when they have to put their money to back their claims, most will chicken out.
Case in point right now : how many will patreon their money to keep Dpreview.com alive?
