From 8 inchers when they were first announced (back in 2018) and 11mm thickness when folded , they blew up to 15mm thickness and fell to 7.3 inches (when unfolded). In the intervening 5 years technology has definitely regressed when it comes to foldables. Such a disappointing turn of events.

Btw most phones are almost 7 inches already, having thick folding phone that unfolds to 7.3 inches is such a waste. What are they even doing? Nobody wants those products. I thought that 8 inch unfolded, and 11mm thickness when folded was a good start, but still needed some work before becoming mainstream. Instead we went all the way to the opposite way and by now foldables are the furthest than ever from mainstream use.

Are they doing it on purpose so that sell their boring phones (that look much slicker by comparison)? It's very rare for tech to regress, yet in the case of foldables it definitely did. Btw camera wise too. First foldable had P30 level of photography, most new foldables can't even photograph half that quality. It's so weird, how bad, all of the sudden, this space became.

Anonymous, 13 May 2023Does it fold both forward and backward? That's what I want to know.

If ZTE can't even have decent slab phone software/software support, they definitely can't male good folding software

Nice. Since it's ZTE I'm sure it's gonna be budget friendly
