seems that their aggressive marketing with QLED and other names to confuse the casual buyer that they are not buying a LCD has not been going great lately.
wait till average joe stop falling for 200megadcks smartphones and realize that sensor size matters more than than mp
i got a lg c2 77 inch and love every single pixel of it.

Anonymous, 17 May 2023Isn't Sony part of the Japanese Display group? Not anymore. jDi has only made oled for apple watch years ago.
Still transitioning from lcd to oled to supply iphones in the future.

LG has petents for bigger OLED screen production.
Thats why Samsung never made OLED TVs.

Shahar , 16 May 2023 Just buy directly from LG, no reason to go through Samsung The Panels are only haft of the story. There is a lot more to it than just the panel.

That's how much oled needed to go from prohibitively expensive in the late '00s to common place (late '10s). Oleds will be here for another decade it seems like. We'd prolly see microleds in mini screens like watches and phones first ...

Oh well, just so you know, many content purists picked their best TV for content consumption last year, with all candidates being purely OLEDs.
Guess what, the winner is NOT an LG WRGB OLED TV.

Sony used WRGB on xz2 premium, colours were super ugly compared to xz2.

These LG OLED panels are surely not going to be their top-of-the-line flagship OLED TVs, as they have their own QD-OLED technology, which is objective superior in almost everything compared to LG's decade-old WRGB OLED.

Now if QD-OLED also makes its debut on smartphones, perhaps we'd get longer-lasting AMOLED screens compared to what we have now.
