MediaTek looking to build a chipset with an Nvidia GPU next year

This chip will target Windows on ARM laptops, according to insiders. Besides graphics, Nvidia tech will also bring AI acceleration.

But then if a software company like apple can design efficient chips, I'm sure Nvidia and Mediatek can also do it, eventually. We have seen Amd grown and surpass Intel, Mediatek give tough competition to Qualcomm in flagship chipset market. It'll probably go better than Samsung - AMD partnership.

          Will it scale well though? That's what I'm wondering. Nvidia GPUs don't seem to be that efficient in a large hardware already.

              and does not bottleneck performance as well. reminds me of doing a terrible combination between nvidia gpu with amd cpu..

                  Since MediaTek also make desktop SoC for ChromeOS, I don't see any problem with it being utilized on future Chromebook laptops or tablets.

                      Actually there were several games optimized specifically for tegra, just like snapdragon.
                      Nvidia just quit the race early giving snapdragon the ability to monopolize the market.
                      The first quadcore smartphone was a tegra based htc 1x if I am not mistaken (the US version had dual core snapdragon)

                          I'd prefer Nvidia SoC however the price will be premium. MTK + Nvidia would be interesting, ray tracing otw.

                            This is very, very promising.
                            I'm going to keep a close eye on this. Hopefully they do what Nintendo did for their switch and perform some Low Level API integrations.

                              Finally 2024 will be great competition, after Windows ARM exclusivity contract has ended with Qualcomm x Windows. And Now ARM RACE WILL BE STARTED !!

                                I guess Mediatek can produce 40 core mali g-78 or g68,g76 gpu.Or for example 16 cores mali g78 ,6 cores mali g76, 8 cores g68.It will be helpful.

                                  Mmmma, 16 May 2023Nividia Intel and AMD are bad in making arm( risk ) Arctucture Nvidia has an ARM cpu running inside each Nintendo Switch 🙄

                                  As for AMD/Intel, give them some time. x86 wont die any time soon and ARM has limitations. Several ones, in fact.

                                    NVIDIA Tegra back then in 2011 didnt know how to make SoC with thermals and etc good, now it will? (Even tho is only GPU now) I doubt.

                                    Power hungy, it may be good in perfornance but battery life will not...

                                      My grandpa had xiaomi pad 1 in 2015 which had Nvidia chipset
