if i could have a phone tailormade i would go for:
an HTC ONE S that has 720p, quadcore Kraits, 32/64Gb internal storage (don't care for external storage if i have that amount of builtin storage), adreno 320/330 GPU, and a bit larger battery..
NOTHING DIFFERENT, it has to look exactly the same as the original ;)

The Xiaomi M2 and latest M2S are the last super smartphones of decent size (4.3"): IPS 720p screen with beautifull colors, 2GB of RAM, 16/32 GB of internal memory, Adreno 320, quad core processor (s4 pro at 1.5Ghz for M2 and Snapdragon 600 for M2S!!!) and decent camera (8Mpx for M2 and M2S 16GB, 13Mpx for M2S 32GB) capable of 8 shot per second and 1080p video (or 720p at 90fps to make slow motion movie). The MIUI ROM is imo fabulous and most important: the ROM is UPDATED EVERY WEEK! Just recently they updated to JB their first phones (M1 and M1S) from 3 years ago. What to desire more?

I feel like this is mainly a Samsung trait, but they being the leader of Android smartphones will set the pace for other makers to follow suit. It seems like Motorola and to some extent HTC understand that bigger isn't always what users want when it comes to new phones. Several of the upcoming Motorola phones - while they may not be as powerful as the latest Samsung offering - have quite modest 4 inch screen sizes. We also have to keep in mind that HTC's previous series of 'One' phones did come in three sizes, and while the small one was pretty basic, the One S was still a pretty powerful phone for 95% of us out there.

Totally agree with this, no OEMs are thinking about mid-sized phones nowadays, everyone are just competing with sizes

DroidsRus, 16 Apr 2013Don,t worry about a petition Samsung has already done this ... moreDear dude,
The S3/S4 mini is not a high end phone. Mid-spec.
What they want is high end phones, in a smaller body.
Read the article.

Galaxy S3 mini would be pretty good for this.Latest chipset will be in the S4 mini I am sure. Therefore, I am not sure this petition is a good one.

Don,t worry about a petition Samsung has already done this :) They have launched the Galaxy s3 mini and will certainly be launching a s4 mini some time afterwards. Only a matter of time before the competition wake up and see the sales figures then do the same thing. I love big screens but not everyone needs this, good idea to have a top spec phone at both ends of the scale.

AnonD-88967, 16 Apr 2013Plus. Speakers should be placed at front or bottom side. ... moreI beg to disagree. though having speakers in the front is a nice idea , the htc one's design has been spoiled because of this. the bottom of the phone took more space to fit the speaker and cap keys than just the speaker/ ear piece on the top, this resulted in the shifting of the screen away from the center of the phone. this is quite visible when you hold the phone horizontally. you will notice that the screen is not exactly in the center but to one side of the phone. nokia's lumia 620 and some others are also designed like this which have more free space at the bottom (though it doesn't have speakers in the front) which looks rather outdated in design. modern phones are designed where the screen is equidistantly placed from the top and bottom edges of the phone.so there is symmetry. A good example is samsung's latest galaxy phones where the the space on the top and bottom of the phone is equal. I'm not saying samsung phones have best design, but they have symmetry. some of the models of other brands too have symmetrically designed phones but not all.

I have an Xperia V, and I think this phone passes the criteria here(720p screen, 4.3 inch, great camera, walkman, splash proof). I have a problem with it though, the battery drains quite fast so that I need to charge it once per day. if only it could last for a week, I would not need any other phone out there..

or can some one develop an os that require some 512mb ram and 800mhz processor to do 1080p video recording and playback and can be compatible with android hardwares (probably second generation)with 800 x 400 screen
i think you need better os than better hard ware
some 800mhz to 1.2ghz single processor will be nice and battery efficient with some 1500mah battery power too
keeping the design slim and battery consumption low
and an os which work lag free.

AnonD-105714, 15 Apr 2013Xperia SP is closest to that. 4.5inch, dual-core 1.7Ghz Sna... moreNo, we want true high-end specifications, the SP does not even have the specs of a 2012 flagship (the GS3 was already quad core).
So, we want quad-core CPU and 2GB of RAM. Otherwise, it will simply be a mid-ranger (and there are already many).

I am not really agreed with all that. Things are changing now. Tablet is replacing laptops, i personaly dont want to open my laptop every time i need to Google something i rather preferred my Droid for it. So as i am relying more and more on my cell phone.... so i need more power. I am also using my Droid for Forex and IP phone services. So i cant stuck with basic features of cell phone. i need improvement daily...
Now I am working to Play IPTV on my Droid so i need mooooore power, bettttter display and Raaaam
