Smartphones are getting updated with higher end hardwares.. well thats a must. but why they are getting bigger and bigger!? not only because they require better and bigger displays but also they are getting more and more power-hungry. its not only better and bigger screens which makes the manufacturers to increase the size of their smartphones but also the need for bigger and bigger batteries. The hardware requirements which you mentioned cant get into a phone with that size or you would not have a satisfying daily battery endurance. Just take a look at the smartphones battery capacities since 5 years ago till now and how its getting bigger and bigger. I mean for a high end power hungry phone with decent hardware specifications, bigger means better battery life which is already an issue even for the big sized phones out there already let alone mid-sizers...

And yes, I know that One is made of better materials, just saying it's not compact.

Kindly send the petition letter to Sony Mobiles Corporation.
Sony would listen. They made the smallest Android smart phones ever made. Xperia x10 mini (world Smallest Android phone) and Xperia mini (world smallest HD Android phone)

I still have not purchased any smart phone yet and im still using Nokia 6300. in wait for a iphone5 sized android phone. here is my list of the best COMPACT Android phone to date:
Sony Xperia SX - Japan Only
Motorola RAZR i - Selected Countries only
Motorola RAZR M - Selected Countries only
HTC One S - The phone dimension is just too big
Specs im looking for:
- 8-13 mp camera
- microsd card support
- removable battery
- pocketable
I can easily purchase an iphone5 but im not going to. Im waiting for the android alternative. I hope this petition works out.. =)

BUT, it's only available in Japan. This is a potential goldmine for Sony! Can't understand why it was never released worldwide.

in india we have a brand named karbonn and it has a model called A21 (4" 480* 800pix)
that i think is the apt size people should try to put 2gb ram and Snapdragon 600 processor
with hdmi port dlna etc should be integrated to it

yup 3.5" to max 4" is nice
then memory of 1gb to 1.5gb is ok
along with hd display
and other connectivity options
and a decent battery say 2000mah to 2500mah
if possible a 6.9mm thickness with aluminum or steel uni body,fm transmitter and wireless charging
os could be anything (must be lagfree)

I have the nexus 4 and have considered getting a smaller phone to pair with my nexus 10.
However there is just nothing out there that offers the size, specs, value.
The xiamomi phones are smaller side to side however because they are thicker they are larger overall.
Nexus 4 cannot be beat.

Htc really did the best job this year.
The htc one is the most compact high end device in the competition.
I think they deserve some credits here...
On the other hand, i pray Lg learns a lesson this time and guard their steps frm following samsung's trails.

Im one of the most lovers of compact android phoes. But 4.2 is HUGE.
Im currently using Xperia Ray( 3.3 INCH display, 8MP cam, 720P Video capture) Very thin
Asking for the same size but higher specs

iPhone 5 is the perfect size for what it does.
BUT, for me, a perfect phone would be the thinness of the iPhone 5, iPhone 5 buld materials, and SGS2 screen size with 720p. 4.3 inch phone is perfect especially with small bezel.
5inch is just ridiculous and I cant believe people want that for everyday. Looks a bit too much.

You have plenty of options at 4.3" with 720 screens and over 8MPix camera. Sony Xperia S, V, SL, Acro S, Acro HD and Xiaomi Mi-2 and MI-2s. And guess what? The don't sell. So this petition is a fraud!
