I would prefer using the original controller connected to the phone.no extra investment necessary.

Expensive... High end controllers like this cost $70. The controller I use with my Android phone or PC costs $50.

It's basically just gamepad that takes power from your phone to be useful while dont have any battery packs in them or some cooling for the phone
As that gamepad adds more heat for the phone when you rub the gamepad with your body heat and warm up the plastic
I would rather have a blutooth gamepad and have the phone hooked with some hdmi cable to large TV and use it like a console. When you remote play you then basically need only screen and good internet connection so you dont need to have the big box only for gaming that also dont have screen included.

It attaches to your phone so you don't have to try and prop your phone on a table to play. Imagine using a PS5 controller to play a game on a train or sitting in an Airport? Or anywhere you don't have a table directly in front of you.
I understand your concern about price, but the practicality of this compared to the actual controllers is far superior.
