Apple likes to brand itself at premium but that doesn't mean they don't make lower-end devices.

If they kept it... morebut it would also kill apple's reputation as a premium brand. if people hear apple products are sold for such low prices, they will directly switch to other brands. sounds irrational but that is how things are. things need to be expensive in order to attract the customers' attention. it doesn't matter cheap and crappy something, if you sell it for extremely high prices, then success is garuanteed.

                          Concerning tablets, the iPad 9 was perfect. If they kept it the same, added a newer A14 and reduced the price to $249, it would kill the competition

                            Hmmm, at first read this just sounds like Always-on display but iPhone already got that so... let's see. Sounds strange. WWDC should be good this year. I just hope iOS 17 is more stable than what we've been getting recently, that should be the priority.
