AnonD-1101735, 30 May 2023Yoo what?? I got my last update w security in Feb 😔Check your region's updates here: https://xiaomifirmwareupdater.com/miui/lisa/

You had the option to go for Snapdragon 778G+🤦

Thankfully this chipset supports 4K recording unlike 695. https://www.qualcomm.com/products/mobile/snapdragon/smartphones/snapdragon-6-series-mobile-platforms/snapdragon-6-gen-1-mobile-platform

But I hope you guys don't have high expectations and don't get "blinded" by the fact that this chipset is produced by Samsung Foundry, the same company that produced inefficient Exynos chips, Snapdragon 888 series and 8 Gen 1. But let's just hope Samsung is doing their things right here.

Anonymous, 30 May 2023But One UI is the best. No any UI is better now.Best for you, but not for everyone.

Anonymous, 31 May 2023Very few people use them anyway. So you'd rather not have the option at all, despite the extremely minimal (or even negative) effort needed to give that option?

So for Sony to decrease the RRP from last year's model is a good move. Heck, if Sony is being optimistic, they can decrease the RRP further to €399.

Anonymous, 31 May 2023I doubt it since the Xperia 10 v is €50 less than last year... moreGood catch on that price difference. So buyers of 10 V get to save €50 for a less capable chipset on a phone they'll use for 2 years give or take.

An anonymous person who basically replies to every comment on every Sony article here claims that the price difference between different tiers of chipset aren't that huge. If that's true, then maybe keeping the previous 10 price and using 7+ gen 2 could be possible and would be the better way to go.

I personally like running older apps because generally they are smaller and lighter, even if they do the same thing as a newer app. I don't like a greedy corporation having control of what I run on my phone.

KondriX, 31 May 2023Maybe 5% of people care about updates, and for this phone 1... moreI don't know why other people want a longer software support, but I can speak only for my self.

Since I tend to have my phone for a longer period then 2 years of use, a longer software support means that I'm not missing on any of features of the newest phones.

Hardware in flagship devices are pretty strong for couple of years of use, but longer software support gives me some extra peace of mind.

I'm perfectly aware my device won't stop working because it lost software support. Of course you don't need the latest update for phone to work properly, but I'm talking about why are they welcommed for me personaly. I don't want to pay for a new device every 2 years when my phone is still working perfectly fine and all it needs is a little software polishing or freshing things up with a new feature or two.

                            Cheers

And you can always install a custom Rom after 4 years, Motorola are pretty friendly at that. And by the way, your phone won't stop working even if it won't receive more updates.

Private Pyle, 30 May 2023True, but it gets 3 years of security updates iirc. With a Snapdragon and good Specs It also isn't that bad especially when you take good care of your phone that you will have the same one for years and not really mind that it isn't Android 14 or higher
