Kangal, 31 May 2023I am guessing most of the announcement will be focused on s... moreWow, that’s pretty spot-on, lol. Nice post.

I am guessing most of the announcement will be focused on software. So new versions of macOS, iPadOS, iOS, tvOS, and WatchOS. We haven't heard of any software rumours, so it might just be refinements, or we may get surprised with some major features.

In terms of hardware; there's the Apple AR-VR Headset likely to be announced. Probably a new AirPods Max (over-ear), and maybe an AirPod Gen-4 (on-ear) but not another AirPod Pro (in-ear) since that was recently updated. Potentially an iPad Mini, that's cheaper and running an older chipset. There is a good chance to hear something about a new Mac Studio (M2 Ultra), otherwise perhaps an unveiling of a new Mac Pro.

If they announce release of M3 chipset for iPad Pro, MacBook Air 13, and MacBook Air 15, I won't be mad. It would be a good surprise. But it would be premature and very early. They haven't even released the M2 Ultra, which might mean it isn't released.

There will be another big announcement on September. That's when they'll focus on hardware, specifically the next-gen (A17-Bionic) iPhone 15 and the new Apple Watch (S9) with preorders.

Then they're possibly to introduce the iPad Pro, MacBook Air 13, and MacBook Air 15, all running on the new Apple M3 Silicon. If they announce it, it would make it the quickest upgrade in their history. If they skip it for another 12 months it would make it the slowest upgrade in their history. So it's 50/50 chance. I think it's closer to next year, since they likely want to focus as much on the new iPhone/iWatch and milk the sales AND because it's a full-nlde shrink (TSMC-3nm) there is a likelihood of having low stocks of the silicon. And having demand for their new products but not being able to meet it with supply is a real issue, and loss of potential sales, things that Apple are careful to control.
