I would prefer Motorola to have a smaller portfolio of devices and focus more on the software support with the freed-up time (especially for the mid and budget devices) but that's wishful thinking... None of the Chinese (and Korean in the past) manufacturers do that. The business model is still to flood the market with even more new devices aimed at making people hungry for more.

To our editor Vlad .... I'd like to offer some positive criticism or point-out what Motorola 'may have spoon fed you' - which if this case in such that they had FORCED you to post verbatim what I'm highlighting then its even MORE embarrassing for them since they USEd to be in the USA.
Editorial mistake (quoted):
"In the US, the Razr+ with 256GB of storage will become available on June 23 from Motorola, Amazon, Best Buy, AT&T, T-Mobile, Google Fi, Optimum Mobile, and Spectrum Mobile. It will cost $999. Pre-orders start on June 16. The Viva Magenta colorway will be exclusive to Motorola's online store and T-Mobile.

In Canada, the Razr+ will also go on pre-order on June 16 and see a full release on June 23, through Motorola's website and "select carriers and national retailers". The price? CAD 1,299.99.
The Razr will reach North America "in the coming months", and the price is still under wraps. It's coming soon to "selected markets across Europe, Latin America, and Asia" too.

^ this last paragraph has an odd-ball oddity. Above it The United States and Canada have already been mentioned for pre-order and release dates with pricing .. only Mexico is left in North America ... so there is no point mentioning the continent separately. It would've been better to state "Mexico releases is pending" or "Mexico will join the North America release in the coming months".
Of course those of you that have visited/live in the USA you've come to call the USA "America' which has its roots to first being discovered in 1500 and coined back in 1507.

As usual Europe get rippded off with shitty pricing 800 euros for Snapdragon 7 gen 1 device, and 1200 for foldable with 3 inch cover screen with 8+ gen 1? Give me a break

I don't know why, but when ai hear ultra, I imagine 200mp or 4x50mp cameras. There is nothing tho.
That also brings the question, why are folds so @#$^ in camera hw?
I mean everything besides mateX2.

They apparently decided that since sales were below expectations and they rarely lasted beyond the warranty period for anyone who tried to use them as their everyday phone that it wasn't worth providing updates.

I hope the Razr has a meaningful discount like $400 instead of $200. It only uses a Snapdragon 7 Gen 1. Pixel 7 is $300 cheaper than the 7 Pro but uses the same chip.
The truth about having a bigger cover display on a flip phone is you're still getting a square. A half of a slab. Trust me, I've tried using many different apps on my Razr 5G from there and it's not an ideal experience. Try replying texts from it or browsing the web. Best use for my case is GMaps and streaming apps like YouTube and Netflix.
The best cover displays from foldables comes from the book-style ones like an Oppo Find N and N2. Or the upcoming Pixel Fold. Who wants to browse from a square-shaped cover display? The keyboard will take up most of the screen. People who use flips long enough will realize they open their phone more. With a Z Fold, it's not as required.

Considering Motorola's track record, I would say that the security updates will come within a 75 day cycle(sometimes even faster) instead of a monthly update(a drawback to be honest). Also it's late on updating to latest Android version, but as long as they give the promised security updates correctly in time, I won't bother about OS updates getting late as I would consider security updates more important than OS updates.

To me, only the 40 sound somewhat interesting (if the price is right) but, the major "but" when it comes to Motorola...the software support. As I read in a reaction to this article, "welcome to the most expensive phone with only 1 year of software support", it is indeed the sad reality with products of the brand, even for so called "upper mid-range" and "premium" devices. True, other Chinese brands suffer from the same lack of support for major upgrades and security patches like Xiaomi and Oppo but at least they do have a better support for their own overlay OS. MyUX is strictly linked to major android os upgrades meaning that if you want the latest goodies you have no choice but to buy a new one with the "latest" android version and that is a good reason to not buy a Motorola if that is a major thing for you. On the other hand I had no complaints about the MyUX OS. It's nice, stock-ish and just the interesting additions on top (read to things that stock android still hasn't added to it's software). Would I buy it? Probably not as folding devices (also flip phones) are still too expensive for me. If prices would reach the €600-700 mark then I would be tempted to get one and live with the "poor" battery times with flip phones (fold ones are getting better)

Wait 6 months and you will see that Samsung begs US customers to buy their phones by throwing a discount along with some free buds or chargers. The same is with Motorola except that they don't give any free buds or something but at least the price decrease somewhat to make it a good purchase.
The last time I heard, I thought Samsung phones are inferior as they gave a cracker festival to customers during Note7 times and also swelling of batteries(Reported by Mrwhosetheboss) just a year ago. I also remember that the S22, S21, S20, and S10 series phones were banned from Geekbench for benchmark manipulation. So I see that maybe we have to look back on cases as what is called an inferior product. So please don't try to judge people's preferences.
I personally love a good phone irrespective of brand. If a phone is good, it's good. Sure brands have some products that are bad but there are some good products in the same brand as well.

The cheaper Razr was the one I completely ignored like everyone did for the Denver Nuggets and Miami Heat all season. It looks exactly like a Flip 3 and 4 but a smaller cover display at 1.5". But if rumored price at $799, it's got me interested in it a little more.
I probably would still prefer getting the Razr+ mainly for the bigger cover display and better SoC. But I wouldn't mind getting the cheaper Razr as I surprisingly don't use the 2.7" cover display on my Razr 5G a lot except for GMaps and watching videos. I usually open the phone when I want to use it. And who wants to reply to texts using that 2.7" display? The keyboard already takes up half the screen.
The Razr 40 (non-plus) has surprised me with the build quality. No more glass from top to bottom. As Michael Fisher has stated, it has that pleather (plastic/leather) that the BlackBerry Bold 9000 had in 2008. I like that feeling. It looks way more durable than any foldable flip phone I've seen.
It's cheap.
It's durable.
It has stamina.
I think the cheaper Razr is the way to go for most people who aren't into tech. There are already question marks about the durability with foldables. The cheaper Razr is the one you don't have to spend so much to take on those risks. It has everything the Razr+ has except the SoC and large cover display.
The more budget-friendly Razr will open the doors for more affordable foldables. Samsung will copy this and will eventually release cheaper models of their Z Folds and Flips. Everything always boils down to price for most consumers.
