Tozo Golden X1 review

04 June 2023
The Golden X1 earbuds from Tozo offer plenty of premium features while undercutting most of the offerings from competitors.

Read this review initially when it became available, and purchased the product at a decent price of ~$120 USD back then. Came back here to make note that the following issue mentioned in the review seems to have been fixed with some Windows update:

"It’s important to note that the volume adjustment feature only works on smartphones and not on laptops and other devices like TVs."

I'm now able to control the volume on my Surface Pro 7+ (running Windows 11 Pro v22H2 OS Build 22621.1413) with them, just like I can do on my Note 9.

So far, my only complaint about them is that the case build quality is somewhat cheap, as time and time again, when I insert the buds, they sometimes don't properly make connection with the charge pins, and sometimes even though they appeared like they did, one of them would lose connection to the charge pin while sitting in the case. So, I've had several situations where one earpiece got charged and the other didn't. Other than that, they sound amazingly great on bother my Surface Pro 7+ and Note 9. Love the Multipoint functionality. Good true-wireless experience upgrade to my Jaybird X3s, unlike the Jaybird Vista 2 that lack Multipoint functionality...

Tried this product. Don't know what this reviewer is comparing this to, but my unit, was average, no where near what AirPods Pro gen2 or Nothing ear2 or sound core Liberty 3, tried with iPhone 12 pro max, Google pixel 7 pro , Oneplus 9 pro, with Youtube and Apple Music. I returned mine, was expecting better. However, if you have low end earbuds, then this would be a step up.

aReefer, 05 Jun 2023I won't spend so much money on earbuds. It makes no... moreI'd spend up to like 50 dollars on accessories. For a wireless keyboard + mouse on Amazon should be like ~40? or go on Mercari/eBay/Shein and look for some stuff on there.

Mills, 05 Jun 2023My earbuds take ~1 hour 50-100% via 10W brick. Not badtry using a 67w charging brick and see any difference.

aReefer, 05 Jun 2023I won't spend so much money on earbuds. It makes no... morefor that, i'd rather buy wireless headphone. its got aux port in case the battery got depleted or out of charge. the wireless earbud thing is like status symbol of audio things. whether you use wired audio, they would call you broke..

Vishal Akbar, 05 Jun 2023After the fiasco of DIZO , I doubt if I will trust such TOZ... morethey are different, dizo are just cheaper division to realme.

I won't spend so much money on earbuds.

It makes no sense when they need to be charged almost daily, the battery degrades after so many cycles and can't be replaced, and they are so small that you can lose them in a second, or break them.

I prefer my 20 dollar Soundpeats Mini Classic earbuds for daily use where I sacrifice some sound quality for convenience, and I got a 60 dollar Fiio wireless Bluetooth DAC (BTR3K) that I can plug any wired headphone or IEM into and get better results, also using LDAC, and some other models have AptX Adaptive etc.

Even after the battery eventually dies, I can still use it as an external DAC.

After the fiasco of DIZO , I doubt if I will trust such TOZO or any such brand names.

i still cant enjoy "premium sound" if they last 30 minutes of listening at full volume.

I didn't read that it had a low latency mode to play for example!! If you don't have that section, it's just a waste of money!
