Shame on me for expecting them to announce some new and proprietary (since it's Apple) hi res audio codec. Something similar to LDHC or LDAC would've been nice. Don't get me wrong. I know nothing beats a wired connection in terms of quality. I use an external DAC and headphones at home.
But for street use, I alternate bewteen iPhone 14 pro with Airpods Pro 2 and Pixel 6a with Oppo Enco X2. Oftentimes I think the Pixel+Oppo combo on LDAC sounds slightly better to me.
