Shamefully, MIX Fold 2, as beautiful as it is, is a shame of a phone on the global stage.
How on earth would you make such a fantastic phone, and restrict it to China. And double the price on the global version?
If you manage to find your way into China to buy the Fold, to use on the global stage, Xiaomi blocks your line, especially on Whatsapp. They actually make your line useless. Your line gets blocked from using Whatsapp.
To retrieve your line, you MUST change the phone.
That is a SHAME!!!!!

Seems like China gets all the foldables and Americans are left with picking between Z Folds, Z Flips, Razrs, or a Pixel Fold. Even if I imported a Xiaomi flip phone, I wouldn't be able to use it on my carrier (AT&T) and I don't plan to leave my carrier thanks to ACP.
Sony better hurry up quickly with an Xperia Compact Flip. Looking at the gaming space, they could destroy Valve and Asus if they ever released a handheld again and not that Project Q nonsense. AYN, GPD, and Abernic are no competition to Sony in gaming.

Tho I like fold ones more, flips can do a lot more considering smaller weight.
Hi end camera specs would be possible, but flip phones were like downgrade of folds from the start.
It changes nothing however with fold sensor size problem, like nobody cares enough.

Daemon Targaryen, 06 Jun 2023Sony and Google need to get on this quickly.
I'm no... moreWould not make any difference.
Sony would never be able to sell clamshell for less than $1300 even if based on 5 series. Considering the focus is 4k s reen devixes, it would probavly be based on 1 series and easily near Pro-i price. After whole fight wirh verizon in 2015 ( z4v got canceled) zero chance of any deal in the future ..
Also sony only sells unlocked in USA.
Pixel Flip is probably that second foldable that got canceled.

Sony and Google need to get on this quickly.
I'm now heavily considering getting the Razr+. The AT&T promo involves offering it for $5 per month for the next 36 months. Since I'm not leaving AT&T for the next 3 years since I have ACP, it works for me! By monthly cost is $30 plus taxes. I would spend about $10 more on my monthly and lose 7 GB of hotspot data.
Cheapest unlimited data: +$65 (only 3 GB hotspot)
Autopay discount: -$10 (prepaid is $15)
ACP discount: -$30
Razr+: +5
Total: $30 (guessing closer to $32.25)
No trade-in required but an unlimited plan is required but not the Value Plus Plan of $50. Cheapest is the Starter one at $65.It's tempting. The AT&T offer is better than T-Mobile's because the latter involves opening up a new line but you get it for free. T-Mobile does get it exclusively in pantone (magenta/red).
If compared to a Pixel Fold at $1800, it's a bargain. Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 might be a year old but it's still far superior to the Pixel Fold's Tensor G2. Both the Razrs of 2023 could be the foldables of the year. The Razr+ is cheap enough for me to get the basic Razr if that's priced at meaningfully half off.
The basic Razr is built with the same faux leather coating of the pantone Razr+. I actually prefer the look of the cheaper Razr. Most people usually open up their flip because not many people will use a squarish display or want to type from a 3.6" display. Basic Razr might be the best-selling fold of this year.

Yesterday's Razr was selling well in China... even though Motorola isn't as big as Xiaomi and BBK market share there. Xiaomi is coming too
