DeepIn2U, 09 Jun 2023Lol I’m curious: Name is 5 distinct phone models by 5... more"Name is 5 distinct phone models by 5 manufacturers in the world using AndroidOS that allows you IP68 + MicroSD Storage?!"
Easy. Every LG flagship phone since the V30, every Sony flagship phone since the Z3, every Pro model of Huawei flagship phone since the Mate 20 Pro, all Samsung flagships from S7 until the Note20 Ultra, Nokia XR20, Samsung XCover6 Pro. Of course there are more to add, but that is enough for now.

"What are you going to do if your home is broken into?
        A fire consumes everything within?!
Your home insurance is NEVER going to bring back sad data."
Sorry to disappoint, but all the data saved in the phone's microSD card will be the first to save since it's in the phone and you can keep it in your pocket. If you aren't quick enough, all your external hard drives won't be saved anyway.

"On board storage is getting a LOT faster than MicroSD spec. And soon much cheaper. 2TB MicroSD is the top storage you can get."
Lol, much cheaper? Tell that to both Samsung and Apple who charge an extra $100 for 2x storage or $300 for 4x storage. I can easily get a SanDisk 1TB microSD card for the same price as increasing the phone storage form 128GB to 256GB. Also, there's no point bragging about internal storage speed when apps won't even utilize all the transfer speed.

"Google and first Apple has shown the world JUST how seamless and easy it is to restore cloud backup is data and settings and preferences."
Oh yeah, best of luck doing that at places with little to no internet coverage, especially in rural areas. 💁‍♂️

"Oh wait …. Leave that phone unattended and maybe someone can remove the external storage under your nose then what ya gonna do!!?"
Sound like you're the kind of person who always leaves your phone to strangers. No sane people would do that in the first place. 💁‍♂️

"Yeah keep living in the dinosaur age".
Here's a fun fact for you: Cloud storage servers still use TAPES for data collection*. I don't remember seeing anyone still using VHS tapes for home entertainment in 2023 (💁‍♂️). Always love seeing "eDuCaTeD teChieS" like you going to great lengths thinking you know better than anyone, but only to write absolute nonsense. 😂🤣

DeepIn2U, 09 Jun 2023Lol I’m curious: Name is 5 distinct phone models by 5... more1. Google drive backup doesn't work. I've never succeeded and getting to backup and restore messages and I'm not the only one to have this experience.
              2. MicroSD cards don't need to be fast, since they are for media storage. Saying that internal storage is faster is completely besides the point, because microSD cards are fast enough for what they are needed for, which is media storage, playback, and recording.
              3. Asking which phones manufacturers have the feature is also completely besides the point. They don't have it because it's profitable not to have it. Not because it's not a useful feature.
              4. The amount of storage a computer has is also completely besides the point. What bearing could that possibly have on the argument for phones to have microSD card slots?
              5. I don't know if you live in the ghetto or something, but I have never had a housefire or had my house broken into, even after 20 years in the same location.
              6. The argument for the card getting stolen is ridiculous, I've never had that happen to me or anyone I know. Not to mention malware. If I will never get my phone stolen, or the microSD card stolen, how can somebody load malware into it with the microSD card slot? I've been using phones with the feature since August 2020 (used to be on iPhone) and I've never had a microSD card stolen.
              7. I have never met a single person who's gotten their phone hacked. I know a few who've gotten their phone stolen, but those were out of being careless and not because we actually live in this fantasy world where leaving a phone out of your sight for 2 minutes equates to getting hacked and all your data stolen.
              8. I have a full copy of my photos and videos on the microSD card in my phone, on a microSD card at my house, and on a microSD card at my grandparents house which is in a fire proof safe. In short, both my house and my grandparents house could burn down, my phone could get stolen, and I'd still have a complete backup of my photos. Physical backups useless? Yeah sure...
              9. Now let's talk more about digital backups. I'm not going to say anything about how it works, I've found google photos to be a nightmare but I'm not going to use that as my main point. It's expensive. To store 140GB of photos and videos in the cloud, you'd need a google one subscription of 200GB, which costs 40$ CAD per year. To access that library when you're out of the house, since apparently storing files locally is useless, you'd need a data plan in the neighborhood of 80$ CAD a month. That's 960$ per year. Currently I pay 120$ a year for calls and texts, because I don't need data because I can download whatever music I may need out of the house to my phone, and my photo library is also stored on my microSD card. Contrast that to microSD, which I payed 100$ CAD for my 512GB SanDisk Extreme Pro MicroSD card. It has been rock solid and stores all my music, all my photos and videos, and leaves me with half full internal storage of 128GB which is used for apps and games. That's 10% the price over the period of a year, 5% over 2 years, and 2.5% over 4 years. For more function, since I can access it offline, and it's more than fast enough to easily browse my media library, listen to music, and record 4K60 video.

Your repeated insults do nothing for your argument, they just make me and others a lot less likely to take you seriously. You're looking at this from the perspective of there only being one type of consumer. Well, congratulations, that's silly and untrue. If there was only one type of consumer and it was exactly like you, explain why different sizes of phones exist? Explain why different tiers of phone exist? Explain why phones with more pro features such as Sony phones exist? Yes, I'm aware you haven't said you think you're the only consumer, but I cannot think of any other reason why somebody would look at this topic with such a closed minded approach.

Also, I searched for Mr. Robot. After finding no videos about hacking into android with a microSD card, I did a broader search. Still nothing. It sounds like you're telling lies to try and further your point. I did a broader search of the internet. Still nothing conceivably proving that a locked android phone can be hacked using a microSD card. I'm sorry that you felt the need to lie to prove your point. Your opinion is valid, but it doesn't change how useful it is to me. It also doesn't change how useful it is to millions of other people. It doesn't change the factual points people like me can make to bring down your whole argument. Whether you choose to listen to these logical arguments is completely up to you, but I would encourage you to be more open minded, and perhaps not worry as much.

Name is 5 distinct phone models by 5 manufacturers in the world using AndroidOS that allows you IP68 + MicroSD Storage?!

Now I ask you how much storage does your (or any of) your computer(a) have?
                - is your data on the phone backed up to more than 1 external hard-drive? Any directly on the computer?
If saved on external SSDs or internal to any of your computers and still in your home you’re a FOOL!

What are you going to do if your home is broken into?
                A fire consumes everything within?!
Your home insurance is NEVER going to bring back sad data.

What are you going to do when your phone gets stolen and crushed completely?! That microSD card will be useless.

What you going to do when you leave your phone unattended at a bar, or on a date?! Mr Robot has already shown just how easy a worm or malware can be loaded into AndroidOS via MicroSD card EVEN when unlocked!!

On board storage is getting a LOT faster than MicroSD spec. And soon much cheaper. 2TB MicroSD is the top storage you can get.

Not to mention 1 stop to reach in terms of warranty for faults. Not 2 like the phone manufacturer and the external storage.

Oh wait …. Leave that phone unattended and maybe someone can remove the external storage under your nose then what ya gonna do!!?

Yeah keep living in the dinosaur age. Everyone that says external is the best: behind pro photographers (whom quickly swap MicroSD from pro cameras and their phones also cry’s foul sooner or later. Even Sony has demonstrated using USB-C as a conduit to the pro camera to edit directly to the MicroSD negating the need to swap the storage between phone and pro camera.

Tech is personal, just like shoes. No matter the sizing, some shoes fit better for some people. However, the situation we're in right now is that we have an abundance of large sizes but a low number of small sizes.
