it's sounding promising, just 3.5mm and a decent main cmos and it's still the phone i want.

okay, 08 Jun 2023I get it you really love microSD cards. My phone has 128GB ... moreIn cars this tends to be okay because you can hire a company to add one after. Not such with a phone. A MicroSD card slot is inexpensive to implement, and is very useful. There is no reason to omit it other than profit. Yes some users like you do not use all of their phones storage, that's why you have the option. If you don't need it, you don't buy a memory card. There is no harm to you in having a memory card slot. Personally I have a 128GB LG V60 (And yes, like you the internal storage is only half full.) with a 512GB MicroSD card. You don't have to buy that microSD card, and it cannot possibly hurt you to have the option. The amount of people I know alone that struggle with full storage on their iPhones, should be reason enough to include the feature on every handset. I have 334GB of media on my memory card, I understand that this is not most people's use case. However, I know an abundance of people who take a lot of pictures and struggle with full storage due to the feature being removed, or not being present in the first place like on iPhones. Most people who bought a phone without the feature did so not because they didn't value it, but because they thought they didn't have a choice. Selling higher storage configurations is a solution in search of a problem that doesn't exist. It's a way to earn more money, plain and simple. If you don't need it, that's okay. That's why you have options.

My phone has 128GB of storage and half of it is empty and I will probably never use the other half since it's 3 years old and will soon get replaced. Like I said, majority of users don't need it, that's why they are not bothered by it being removed. In terms of towing, pretty much all cars can tow something, but definitely not every car gets a tow hook equipped, because people don't spec it.

edge case, 08 Jun 2023Most users don't need more storage, but sure. That's like saying "Since most people buying trucks don't actually use it for towing, it's okay that this one can't tow despite costing the same as other trucks that can tow." I mean seriously listen to yourself. I want to know how most users equates to the removal of a feature. It was always about profit, and I don't feel the need to say "oh it's okay because most people don't need it." MicroSD cards are perfect for what they're designed for. They're fast enough to record 4K60 video, and they come in huge capacities to store hours and hours of such video. I'm not giving Samsung 6-800 for the 1TB variant of their S23 Ultra when I could buy a Sony Xperia 1 V for less money and just buy a 1TB card for 150$. This whole conversation is worthless. "It's not fast enough for games" well guess what I have this feeling you don't have 256GB of apps and games.. the rest will be media. Which coincidentally, is the perfect use case for an SD card. Of course since most consumers have been forced to buy phones without it, you can then say that most people don't need it and excuse Samsung's and the rest of the industry's bad business practices. Sony is one of the few trying to make a phone for you, instead of for their wallets. They include a headphone jack despite them selling their own wireless earbuds. They include a memory card slot despite them no doubt being able to make more money by removing it. So don't tell me that it's unnecessary since most users don't need it. My dad doesn't take pictures, he's quite literally the only person in my family that's okay with 128GB of storage. My mom does take pictures and her storage has been full since less than a year after she got her phone (iPhone 12 mini 128GB), my sister constantly has to delete stuff to not fill up her 64GB on her iPhone 8. A group organizer I know has a 128GB Android phone and her phone is full, all the time. I'm actually going to buy her a 256GB memory card to solve that, because I have the option. Guess how much it cost me? 33$ for a high endurance one. That's Canadian dollars. In the US you could get the same thing for 15-20$. But of course Samsung removed it because it's unnecessary. Someone please explain to me how adding 256GB of storage to your phone for 30$, 512GB for 100$ for a fast card, and 1TB fast card for 180$ is unnecessary. Not to mention you can upgrade after you buy the phone. This argument is silly!

Chaos X 1982, 08 Jun 2023I don't see the small phone gang buying Sony Xperia 5 ... moreS23 is the same height, barely wider, bigger screen, better specs and will be cheaper in most places, because Samsung does a lot of sales.

                      This or s23.....?????

Big forehead and even bigger chin. Asymmetric design looks uglier on a small phone.

I don't see the small phone gang buying Sony Xperia 5 and 10 series. While not delicated, they have SD slots, with Xp10 having 2x Telophoto and Xp5 having 3x Tele. The only thing Asus has is a bigger battery. And having wireless charging doesn't helps cos it's utterly useless and worthless.

                                it's 5.9", not 5.8"'

Asus may a whole video for showing the size and the screen is filled up with 5.9 number xD

A 7D with Dimensity 9200 would be nice if they also made the above changes.

This phone might work in US and Japan, but will surely flop outside of these 2 places. Their most popular ZenFone models in their home Taiwan market and in most part of Asia was ZenFone 6 and 7 Pro. Most people in Asia hated 8 and must prefer 8 Flip. 9 was better than 8 but still lackluster. They should have gone with 6.3" and add back Delicated SD card slot and add in a Telephone Lens, as well as making the Front Camera 1/3" with 19mm lens.
