People need to stop thinking chip from last year is sold at $80-90 less than its original price.
8g2 is $160. Phones that will be using it in 2024, the OEMs get chips in 2023.
They are not made in the next year, not sold for $60-70.
Phones that in 2023 use 8+g1 (regular frequency or lowered to 8g1 level) are cheaper than 2022 phones because they are inferior.
If you make a version of Find X6 Pro with 7g1, it would not suddenly cost $350-400 less than version with 8g2.

It's an interesting strategy using last gen SoC. Pricing is obviously lower and they know even last gen SoCs can easily cast majority of tasks users will need so looks like Carl Pei is betting on extracting value from this segmentation whereas most other companies wouldn't be able to launch their annual flagship smartphone without using the latest gen SoC as users expect the latest or the brand would be ostracized.

Unless this has unlockable bootloader or headphone jack and expandable storage, why not just get a used, older samsung?
