Anonymous, 20 Apr 2013why ask for high end small screen phone? are you using 10&... moreAre TV's and monitors portable? No. If I had to choose between carrying my 27" monitor around or a 10" monitor I sure as heck know what one I'd pick. Stop with the stupid analogies.

Anonymous, 20 Apr 2013Bigger screen + smaller dimension does not mean its any be... moreActually the bezels for tablets are for your thumbs. I was looking for small bezel 7" tablets and could not find any. But them I read about the thumb....and what you know...my thumb WAS using the bezel as my hand grabbed it. 1cm of beze is mandatory for heavy devices (I'm talking about 7" tablets with 300+g). Phones on the other hand are standing in your palm, you're not grabbing them, so you don't need a big area for thumb rest. Going more than 5", I'm sure the bezel can't be less than 4-5 mm (unless you really have big hands)
Edit: woops...sorry...I realized I only was against 25% of your post. The dropping part that is. As in manufacturers would love to charge you for replacing parts; and the touchscreen is the most expensive (thus making smaller bezels would be an immediate income).

I think that 4.7inch is the best size which isn't too big nor small.

To those that talk about powering the quad-core, please bear in mind that browsing the net, the screen consumes much more, as the CPU power is used in bursts (when you are reading, the CPU is idle). Watching videos uses HW deconding which is similar between single-/dual-/quad-cores.
Also, the Razr I (which GSMarena considers a benchmark) has a 2000mAh battery whereas the Galaxy S3 has 2100mAh, in a 1.5cm taller and 1cm wider design (and I know it's 2mm slimmer and 6 months older).
And the use cases that really push quad-cores to continuous top performance, any phone would not last much, regardless of screen size. Difference between 4 and 5 hours...I would ignore it anyway if it means smaller.

I would use a powerhouse a few times/week, but the rest of the week I would like to just have a phone.

Anonymous, 20 Apr 2013so you guys want a powerful device but in small form factor... moreSmaller battery wouldn't have to power up a huge screen, so if you really think about it, it's all works out... Larger battery for larger screens...

It will good if you can define pocketable size more precisely. To many folks, 5" phones are pocketable, be it shirt pocket or jeans pocket. If coat pockets are considered, then 5.5" is also pocketable. Weight and thickness should also be clearly spelt out. So far, I can only guess that you have defined mid-size as 4"-4.5".

I think we should be flexible with technology upgrades. Screen size depends upon type of usage and there are small and mid sized phone with great specs from almost every ph maker. This is not fair to target one plat form.

Blame SAMSUNG for this, as it keeps making phones bigger and bigger for their flagship.
