Anonymous, 01 Jul 2023well who want buy brand new defective product?all cpus are mainly the same cpu but the best one gets sold as 16 core at 5.5ghz and the others get sold as 12/8/6 cores at 5.4/5.3/5.2 ghz depending on how well they ended from their making, some low wattage cpus can also be high power like the fx 8320u was low power could sometimes overclock over the normal fx 8350, also amd doesnt bin and keep the best ones, you could sometimes get a ryzen 1600 6 core with 8 cores, amd sells you all the chips good and bad and has a high ratio of good chips, intel keeps the good ones and sells the worst ones then makes and new factory overclocked version and sells it for more which is even more overpriced than the normal version and intel ratio of good chips is low because its an kinda low rate from manufacturing and then intel cherry picks the best and keeps them and then the ratio gets even lower

Anonymous, 01 Jul 2023well who want buy brand new defective product? You do know a lot of CPUs, when small parts of them are defective, just get branded as different product.

Why throw away a chip that was, let's say, meant to be an 8 core CPU, like 5800X3D, when 6 of those 8 cores are perfectly fine.

well who want buy brand new defective product?

The 5600X3D, much like the 5600X itself, is technically a chip that wasn't good enough to be a 5800X3D. This means instead of eight functional CPU cores, it has six. It still, however, has the full 96MB of L3 cache, which made the 5800X3D such a fantastic CPU for gaming.

In other words it will be bit cheaper but good enough to run games like Diablo 4, upcomming Assassins creed mirage or GTA 6.
