If you have more storage, you don't need to pay anyone anything. if it had an sd card slot, I could get an extra 1TB of storage for less than $100. All my music, movies, backups, files, everything i want.
But no, they only give you 128 and make you pay for online access to everything.

it's just Google optimising it's chipsets, with a greater focus on the OS and camera hardware.
if you want the fastest processors, the latest Snapdragon, Dimensity or Bionic chips are the way to go.
Google are offering a premium mid-range experience here, not really much more to it, probably just worth waiting for the Pixel A version?
