Samsung Galaxy M34 announced with 4 OS updates, 50MP camera with OIS

07 July 2023
4 OS updates and 5 years of security patches, that is the Galaxy S and A treatment. The phone still has the large 6,000mAh battery and (unfortunately) the Exynos 1280.

Best phone under 20k. 4 OS + 5 years security updates are unprecedented at $200. Not to mention, the big battery, OIS, 4K Recording, 120hz display. Good to see Samsung competing smart against the Chinese.

Color options are pretty ass though. Why not give a plain black?

M34 in India has 6000 mah battery, A34 only 5000 mah and M34 has 3.5mm jack also. For limited period offer, 25W charger supplied for free. Sweet deal with 2K less with bank offers.

For basic use it's fine but it cannot handle some FPS games anymore. Despite it using A73/A53 cores made in 14nm my battery life still is fine, I'm getting 7hrs SoT with a 2.700 mAh (3.500 mAh battery with 76% health). At least with respect to heating or battery consumption I am totally fine in buying another phone with an Exynos processor,

justasmile, 07 Jul 2023Why can't Samsung just use the Snapdragon 768G instead... moreSD768G is too old, is was launched in 2020. It was using A76 cores made with 7nm and an Adreno 620 from 2019.

There's no recent Snapdragon in the same performance range. SD695 or SD4gen1 would place it too close of the A24 and a SD6gen1 or SD778G would make it better than an A34.

Which 50mp sensor though? Is it 1/2.76in jn1? Or is it any of the vastly better 1/1.56 ones?

Finally, GSM ARENA has acknowledged LCD is more important for many people.

                      Good to see that.

                      and Thanks

It’s nice that you acknowledge there are different opinions about OLED and LCD.

What really got my attention is GSMArena's wording

"an upgrade depending on where you stand in the LCD vs. OLED debate".

Kudos to the Writer. This will surely gain some attention of some companies towards this matter

Why can't Samsung just use the Snapdragon 768G instead? They had made a big mistake going for Exynos 1280.

Given how many people are complaining about battery drain issues on the A54, run from these Exynos chips. TSMC built Mediatek/Qualcomm or nothing.
