11 July 2023
The company took over software support and now "aims" to grow the window by two additional years.

I actually think for Fairphone to do this is actually very commendable well done.

LazyEngineer, 11 Jul 2023I will literally eat horshshet if you prove windows 10 22h2... moreYou can start eating now. I have at work a dosen of first gen icore PC's running windows 10 22h2 and all latest updates. And this guys use them for programing. Your whatever device that is, might have another problem, ssd is garbage or CPU is getting throttled because not proper cooled. At home i use a icore3 4160, AIO PC, no external Graphics, no TPM and run wondows 11 on it also updated to latest version/updates without a problem, and yes is fast enough for my evniroment of work, i can even play games and such on it. With the integrated GPU, that is already something to take notes of.

Y'all can support the cause while also calling them out for using an SoC which were way underpowered even in 2019, let alone in 2026
I think more companies should try something similar, but with the right trade-offs, and an incapable SoC shouldn't be one of them

I think that Fairphone giving Android 13 OS update, and then will keep rolling out security patches based on Android 13. That is a great idea since almost all other brands are giving security patches based on the Android version originally shipped at launch.

I never owned a 1st-Gen Intel before, but I also owned an HP Elitebook 2570p with 8GB of RAM, 512GB SSD and i5-3310M. I tried to bypass the Windows 11 requirement and try to install Windows 11 on it, and it runs smooth, even fine to handle 10 Chrome tabs at the same time.

Qualcomm should be ashamed of it's self for the anti-enviroment business it delievers. Europe should sue them and force them to support their chip's for a minimum of 7 years.
