Well, you either get sharp bird for social media or some quality material, with shorter zoom.
I hope longer zoom comes soon, but there is little competition at hi res 5x or low res 10x, why would they upgrade...
There is rumor about upgrading quality of samsung 10x for low light, about resolution its a wonder...

As even current 1 inch sensors on Oppo Find X6 Pro, Xiaomi 13 Ultra etc are small. That's why they get 4x binned from 50MP to the lower resolution 12MP.

It would take a bigger APS-C Micro 4/3 sensor in a smartphone to enable them to 4x binned 64MP to 16MP. Xiaomi are testing prototype Micro 4/3 sensors but unlikely to be available until Xiaomi 15 Ultra at the earliest.

And looking even further into the smartphone future it would take a much bigger APS-C sensor in a smartphone to enable them to 4x binned 80MP to 20MP. APS-C is the limit of sensor they would be able to fit in a smartphone without it being as bulky as a brick!

unxpctd, 13 Jul 202312 has been around too long. They should try 16mp16MP will 100% result in poorer images.

The S23 Ultra screen resolution is only 4.5 MP. Instagram is only 1MP. What makes you think that 30% increase in unneeded pixels would make for better photos, despite the 30% increase in noise, cost, 30% reduction in processing speed, low light capabilities?

Even best professional cameras with full frame sensors 46x the sensor size of a phone stops at about 60MP, as the image quality visibly drops quite a bit after that.

The lense has to be able to resolve all those pixels too. Diminished returns and heightened costs for very little improvement.

Finally! The extra saturation issue was the only one i have with this app. Actually I use it as my default camera app, Its just very good.

Considering colors, hdr etc. I felt it was good enough.
You can't add resolution to 10mp however.
What is worse, I got used to hi res, now after zooming in, just a blur.
I used to have also 13mp tele, it was still somewhat good.
It's colors/hdr vs resolution, but I guess the best way is to see it for yourself how each one performs.
