opo is not oppo.

Weird name, dunno if I can get used to it. But I appreciate them being different at least, I always like that sort of mentality.

And let's Open up the launch event date just like how we Open our foldables like the OnePlus Open which Opens up to become a big tablet display that foldables unlike Open cannot compete with! Only on OnePlus Open, going on Open sale 1 week after the launch of this Open!

      8 'Open's.

The problem is, "stock-like UI" has been a characteristic of OxygenOS for a long time, and OnePlus started removing that "characteristic" since Android 11/12, since Oppo tried to match the source-code of the two OSes. It's like Bentley making their car design similar to Volkswagen and leaving the characteristic design of Bentley itself.

People don't like it because it's not stock Android, but then they complain about the regressions in stock Android since Android 12. People just want to complain.

OnePlus fills those gaps nicely without being bloated. Wifi and Bluetooth and Internet are separate icons on the pulldown menu, not hidden behind the "Internet" button like dumbed down stock Android. There are other niceties, gestures and theming options beyond what barebones Android provides, and the launcher isn't full of icons with decapitated text descriptions.

It's a pleasant experience, and not intrusive. That it's ColorOS or OxygenOS means nothing to me. I want a cleanly designed UI that doesn't treat me like I'm retarded. ColorOS is good.

Oneplus was the only other phone outside of Samsung I really liked for usability but since the fold1 I've stuck with Samsung for their software capabilities when it comes to using the phone both folded and unfolded. If oneplus can replicate it and be well priced then I could well be tempted to finally upgrade my 3 year old fold2.

OnePlus Open. Sounds like a Golf Tournament.

Hey OnePlus, can you sponsor the US Open here in Pinehurst next summer? That would be neat.

Design looks like a Vivo X Fold 2. Wish it was more like the Oppo Find N2 instead.
