Zombies were a hot topic in 2013, as were location-based games.

Mobile gaming in 2009-2019 are kilometers better than now. Many developer is now only developed vast amount of trash hypercasual games that have unlimited ads and microtransaction, taking character and theme from viral internet not matter if they're sued, and they still have like thousands or millions of downloads. They aren't caring for their user, they just care the money. Now other than Car simulator 2, minecraft and bus simulator Indonesia, I don't play mobile games except on a 2014 phone with android 5.0 lollipop and games from the Golden Era.

candy crush is the best. Still playing it until now. :D

I swear to God idk where u taking this from... But the best game on mobile was blitz brigade or dead trigger

Not been in the mobile gaming scene for years now, other than maybe trying 1-2 games every now and then (generally just football manager games which last one i got was 2018) because of 1 reason, emulators.

At this point you can connect BT xbox controllers to your phone, screen share/cast/mirror to a bigger screen or just play older handheld titles that completely destroy probably anything on the mobile platform for android and ios.

So yes, easy fix for disappointing mobile games... Emulators.

The overwhelming majority have 128gb, even iphones since 12 series lowest base storage is 128gb so no idea where you're getting this idea from (unless everyone is rocking a 2015/2016 phone like the s7 edge and lg g5 ive got in my draw). Im pretty confident in saying even most low end phones rock 64/128gb minimum for a good few years, WITH, expandable storage usually.

Also you get like what, 30gb+ of free cloud storage too just by downloading say onedrive, google drive and the phone companies own cloud storage.

Now its all crappy online and P2W games, unlike pay once and play forever games. So better buy a gaming laptop / Rog Ally/ Steamdeck or wait for PSP 2025

Mobile gaming is good for emulation and older classics ported to mobile. There arent many good mobile games made specifically for mobile as the primary platform. Even "respected" and established game companies treat mobile as a platform to only release P2W garbage, not as a console in its own right. MiHoYo is pretty much the only company treating mobile with respect

Up to this day, I have seen people swearing that mobile gaming is the best thing ever, better than proper releases on consoles or PC.

But I disagree. Quality has gone downhill in the industry mostly thanks to mobile gaming with its "free to play" initiatives. People then and now assume stuff should be free bc they say so.

Just look at some games that were mobiles staples before and where they are now:

Asphalt: went from a solid racing title to a pay-2-win crap with false physics

Angry Birds: 3 solid entries to a mish mash of spin offs and releases that everyone just forgot about it.

Fruit Ninja: another good title that got turned "free" and ruined its experience completely. It even got a "sequel", as if such a game needed one (Imagine Candy Crush 2 lol)

And we have, of course, the games for the masses, games that are neither good nor terrible, but they are praised for being free and multiplayer: Free Fire, Fortnite, COD mobile, etc. Special mention to trash like Clash of Clans & its derivatives.

That being said yes they are indeed one of the best mobile games as in they look and play exactly like their console versions but there are even better mobile games with online multiplayer and that's what makes mobile games even better

Actually, long time ago there was slow ... moreYou right about cash grab part there mobile game needs to be simple and addictive and that formula works, but you wrong about first part. Still bigger part of the world has no affordable 5g or no 5g at all, plus console level games takes 100 of gigabytes. It will be impossible to release consoles games even if size of file would be 30GB. There is no single game in apps which takes more than couple gigabytes to download games max take what 10gb most biggest games? Most of the phones only has like 64gb of space, no one would download games with 20gb of space, imagine trying to get GTA 5 level of game it would be like 40-50gb, people would waste months of data just downloading 1 game. Mobiles phones cannot handle such immense sizes of data no matter what, it's impractical. That's the reason you not even seiing GTA 4. Size wise GTA4 would be possible but no low end chip would be able to run it anyway GTA5 would be impossible simply of size of the game.

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas Mobile, released in 2013, is probably the most amazing and cool mobile game in the history of mobile gaming and it doesn't need an internet connection. Rockstar Games decided to remaster the game when it was released for mobile and later renamed it Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas Remastered Edition when it was released for Xbox 360 and PS3. I think it's amazing that there are mobile games that are identical to the console versions. Some users think it's embarrassing that the console version is just the rebranded mobile version, there is even a bug in the console version that allows touch controls to become visible on the screen.

It's sad to see mobile game dev using innocent people with their struggles and memories to falling them into P2W abyss. Imagine just being punching bag for whales.

Hopefully, there is emulator and now you can even install Windows game emulator on Android called Box64Droid, still buggy for now.
