But the fighitng aginast bans and censorship is not always good. Why are there bans and censorship in the first place? Not to silence or opress anyone, but to protect those, that were being oppressed.
I don't know much about banned people, but if I remember correctly Twitter banner Donald Trump for the capitol thing. Since it was organized mostly via Twitter and it lead to a real world violence, his ban was on point.

That's a good move. The new Twitter is no longer just a "microblogging" site as it originally was. It offers everything from conversations to video-sharing to polling. People are putting up their whole shows on it. It covers a huge medium now, and hence rebranding it makes perfect sense.
Also, i personally love the new Twitter. It is pretty good, and it is improving day by day.

Here in India, they are obeying the government like their masters and the government is using every way possible to make full "use" of Twitter's cooperation.
In fact, Twitter was way less "cooperative" in deleting government-critical Tweets before Musk bought it

He doesn't want it to be just chat platform, it will include things like video, VR, content selling/buying, AI assistant, maybe even cloud storage, gaming and many more.
It will be an app for xyz of different kind of things, not to mention he hates boring, likes cool, like what X represents.
So seemingly purchase of chatting app he uses, just to fight bans and censorship, ends up being app they will use for interaction on multiple fronts.
Well, they are going way to have everything made by themselves, this was quite the missing part.
May be the alternative to fb or yt by some time, who knows.
