Canalys: Oppo leads booming foldable market in China during Q1

Samsung is making money by providing Oppo with the panel. Oppo's success is money in Samsung's pocket. That was the point. Both Oppo phones are using Samsung's panel.

I'm well aware BOE also supplies some manufacturers with folding panels, but I'm not sure what BOE has to do with my original post. I never wrote Samsung supplied everybody with panels.

    Well that's pretty obvious.
    Because OPPO Find N2 Flip is one of the most beautiful phones.

      Did Oppo pay the license and make the screen in Oppo factory?
      Do you mean: Samsung sell the screen to Oppo??
      There's a different between SELL and LICENSE

      Btw,
      Samsung is NOT the only one sell the foldable screen.
      BOE of China also sell foldable screen as well.

          And will buy one in near future when vivo or xiaomi sell it in my country

          The reason I didn't buy Samsung fold which is available in here is because
          1. Slow charging
          2. Samsung bad support for non Exynos (my own experience)
          3. Samsung Exynos
          4. Samsung expensive (compared to peice performance of Chinese device)
          5. I don't like One UI (personal preference). I feel the Chinese have beaten Samsung in OS side.

            This is music to Samsung's ear. This form factor will go nowhere if Samsung is the only player. That's why they always talk about the growth of foldables. Not just their own success.

            They're already licensing their screens to Oppo and the new Razr might be using their hinge technology. There are 4 quarters. Not 1. We're already in Q3. At the close of '23, Samsung will still be in one of the top 3 positions for the foldable market in China.

            Still, I do like the fact you guys are showing your true colors. When it's a positive article about Samsung foldables, everyone says foldables are dead. When it's a positive article about chinese foldables, you guys are waiving your pompoms.

              I guess champions league sponsorship worked.

                With no Google play services, of course Chinese won't give a damn about the software optimisation and would select oppo.
