The OnePlus Ace 2 Pro will fully charge its 5,000mAh battery in just 17 minutes at 150W

08 August 2023
The phone supports SuperVOOC S charging and is the first from OnePlus to also support UFCS, which was co-developed by Oppo, vivo, Xiaomi and Huawei.

Phones have an inbuilt feature that prevents it from drawing any more power once it hits 100%.

Digressing to another post
There is mention of this in the article 4 years battery life at least 80%.

Batteries can only be charged a finite number of times
It DOESN'T matter if it is fast charge or slow charge or a mixture of both it doesn't affect that number.
(E.g if that number is say 1460 four years once per day for 4 years, 730 fast plus 730 slow same effect )

So if you don't know this, you are too lazy to checkout facts that clearly defy the laws of physics told to you.

Back now :
Re the Galaxy Note 7 it is BATTERY Quality Control.

I don't know where you have sourced your facts, as it is already out there rather than pick out points I have issues with search halaxy Note 7 exploding

"Samsung's Galaxy Note 7 was permanently discontinued in October 2016 due to repeated incidents of overheating and exploding batteries.3 In January 2017, Samsung revealed that TWO separate problems with its lithium-ion batteries were to blame for the fires, which led to two unprecedented recalls of the smartphone.0 The overheating was caused by separate problems in batteries sourced from two different suppliers, according to the company's own investigation and independent scientific analysis of the issues by three consulting bodies.1 Samsung had to recall about 2.5 million phones after complaints of overheating and exploding batteries. The company insisted that all replaced devices were safe, but reports that those phones were also overheating.2"

Too many people are clueless with fast charging can make the battery swollen or blow up while the infamous galaxy's note 7 with 15 watt charger that actually blow up. If the Electrolytes decomposed it will create gas and expand and if it's dry up the energy transfer will generate more heat and boom that's what happened on galaxy's note 7. What you need to look out for is quality control and use a proper charger. It doesn't matter if it can charge 240 Watts etc as long the battery has good quality control which Samsung's still have that problem.(for now some Samsung's phone has a mechanism that prevent the battery explode but the swollen battery is still a thing)

... will cause battery to expand, and therefore loose its density.

And from engeneering point of view an LiPol battery can't accept much over ~30 watts charge. So battery gets divided into separate cells, which are being charged somewhat with 30 watts, so to say, if there are 4 of them - you get 120 watts charge in result. But it decreases the overall battery capacity because of that division, which is ..meh.

"(presumably, this means that the battery will have at least 80% of its original capacity after 4 years of usage)"

That's a pretty big assumption is OP didn't state that.

Interesting approach, but that high speed charge is a no good for the battery, because the slower charge/discharge process goes the better, it is also not even safe enough : it almost certainly will cause heating, which makes battery

I literally can't do anything else or go anywhere while sleeping, I also do it every day at the same place and then Im guaranteed to have a full battery at the start of the day whatever the day throws at me instead of needing to find that 20 mins somewhere during the day cos I thought fast charging is a good reason to not charge over night while the phone does literally nothing for 8 hours.

I dont have any fixed morning routine other than getting dressed and brushing my teeth, but that's still only within 5 minutes. So yeah, I'm pretty sure while sleeping is still quite literally the best time for just about everyone, but it's great that fast charging still makes other ways of doing it feasible too. It's really nice for heavy users who cant make it through the day with a singel charge. I use a desktop PC a lot and a Surface Pro 9 at work on the go, so I usually managed just fine all day with an overnight charge. Right now headed to bed with 25% remaining on a OnePlus Nord 2T.
