I wonder how can anyone possibly mess up Bluetooth pairing in this day and age ... Furthermore, I get there are occasional FW bugs regarding TWS headphones where L forgets R exists - but it is usually extremely rare. For example, Apple forums are full of AirPod issues regarding this exact issue, but even on something as bad as AirPods these issues are extremely rare (and fixable via headphones reset).

The current gen Bose earbuds are the worst things ever. They are an absolute nightmare at pairing and they constantly lose connection. If you look at amazon reviews, that is the number one complaint. Reaching customer service to make a return, youre looking at an hour long wait time if you call. That many people are complaining about it.
And you wont hear about it from the youtube “tech” reviewers on how awful the experience is.
Highly doubt bose fixed the problem with the new earbuds.

The Bose QuietComfort Earbuds II were a huge disappointment for me. ANC worked great but couldn't be turned off and generated white noise (like distant rain). It was very annoying in a quiet room. And it was a feature (more people had the same experience)
Even a year after the launch, it had no other than the basic codec and was waiting for an update. I returned the headphones. For the price, it felt like a bad joke.

justasmile, 11 Aug 2023Is there NoisyComfort though?Don't know which brands does that, but when you have noise cancelled but voices comes through with reduced volume, you could call that like that.
Hifiman Deva, grado gw100 or any open back earphones otherwise.

As for earbuds, they also got a bass, but overall first ones are vocalish, second got some sharp peaks.
Though wf xm4 got poor FR, at least there are no peaks and enough bass.

I bought the newest Bose QuietComfort 45 and these are the shi**iest over the ear headphones I've ever had, the sound is very flat. Nowadays I use just Apple AirPods, sound significantly better. Maybe their Earbuds sound better, I don't know.

Tests at some sites show how great sony buds perform, but in real test like on youtube, you can hear they lack.
Latest xm5 got great FR though, bassy with accurate heights. May be hard to decide between them and status between 3anc for audiophiles, but I would guess that sony will have a better anc and dseehx tech to improve listening experience.
Bose may shuffle this tho, will depend on how their FR will be, great anc will be obviously good.
Max loudness for bassheads may be hard to find out, not many reviews on this.

Actually, if it's priced based on anc, it may be accurate.
Though sony got great hw, their auto anc ruins everything. They could have the best anc, but... the6 give the best comfort instead. Some may not know, but cab8n pressure on wh xm5 is minimal.
Sad thing is tho, Sony gives no option to have the least cabin pressure or the best ANC performance.
As for wf line of sony, anc of wf xm4 was even behind apple, maybe on on highs, but overall it block only a little in a bass range. Seeng new comparison of wf xm5 to now "old" bose buds, bose still block out more at bass range.
Problem with bose buds are there tho, there are slight peaks(about 2) at high frequencies, making it sharp. Rtings graph is pretty accurate in this, I would opt for less bass apple instead even.
Hope they get it right now, be it bose, or sony. Great thing that a lot can be changed with updates. Tho, I wonder if they are able to "unlock" what they locked.

So far so good.
Known several people with Bose brand and hhonestly can say they are best on the market or they try to be always in top 3.

Hamburger, 11 Aug 2023These are not going to be competitive against Sony's s... moreThey might not have LDAC or DSEE tosh etc., but pretty much every recent Bose headphones (700 not included) were EQed properly and sounded way better out of the box. Not to mention, Bose QC TWS had the best ANC on the market, so there is a potential for good sound and good ANC combo.
But it is still Bose, so it bound to have the worst app imaginable to tweak those headphones.

Used several Sony earphones. Most of them were great. My XB55AP still works. Never used Bose but my car has Bose audio system with 12 speakers. Sounds great. Will buy Bose earbuds as soon as I can afford.
