AnonD-454049, 14 Aug 2023htc one m7 and m8 were truly ahead of their timeThe M9 was kind of a disappointment, though the camera was not nearly as bad as reviews made it out to be.

The 10 is just a solid device all around, the U11 Plus even more so.

The U12 Plus had the best non-speaker call quality I've ever had in a smartphone, speaker phone had noise gate issues.

i wonder if you can even get a single android update

Anonymous, 14 Aug 2023I used to like HTC's UI back in the day. But if they&#... moreFor some of us the fact it's stock android is attractive. I prefer not have skins that take time to port and delay updates only to provide a bunch of features I'll never use.

          Also SD card...

So I'll be waiting for the review...

rosesarerosie, 14 Aug 2023Why would anyone buy this when there are much better option... moreExactly. The cameras are bad enough that I can confidently say only the selfie is good, and that one seems to be using a really common sensor. The design looks generic (at least it's not ugly unlike most of those Chinese phones), it has a fingerprint sensor on the side button (might attract a few more people but that's about it), the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 has horrible efficiency, the screen is a lot bigger than what HTC has traditionally gone for, etc. The only sway it holds is the inclusion of both a 3.5mm headphone jack and a microSD card reader, and that is nowadays unfortunately a niche category. I wouldn't get a phone just because it only ticks off those boxes, even though I love both features and wish they were still standard features in all phones.

Not sure what happened to HTC, but it does look like the company is sharing its love to large screens and mediocre phones with majority of nearby producers. If you had no label you can think it's HMD (Nokia), Huawei/Honor or another similar brand. We loved HTC for compact phones like HTC ONE 8-10 or Desire series. These 6.7 phones look like majority of phones from the nearby land. Really sorry for them.

Why would anyone buy this when there are much better options out there ? Let's not joke around

I used to like HTC's UI back in the day. But if they're just another AOSP/Stock Android UI now, then what's the point?

[deleted post]Then let's say Sony doesn't make phones (which won't be happening for at least multiple years based on Qualcomm-Sony deals article a few months ago), which brand are you going to bashing to death next from you? Asus? Motorola? Sharp? the Transsions (Infinix, Tecno, Itel)?

This trend of adding useless cameras needs to stop

rizki1, 14 Aug 2023Why don't you compare to Poco F5 or F5 Pro? 🤣 It cost ... moreI think it's not that similar to the poco F5 or F5 pro. The processor is the same in this HTC phone and the Xiaomi 13 lite so they have that in common. These type of phones are all ODM anyway i.e.the poco f5, POCO F5 pro and HTC U23pro. Xiaomi or HTC don't design them. Rather they outsource the design and manufacture to 3rd party ODMs and pick a design from a catalogue from the ODM companies. The ODM companies then do the design and manufacture. There is very little to do for the manufacturers apart from software optimisation. Only the Xiaomi 13 lite is likely to be designed by the manufacturer themselves (although not 100% sure but most Xiaomi branded phones are designed in house and manufactured by third parties whereas basically for all Redmi and POCO phones the design is even outsourced) so at least it's not a totally outsourced phone (only the manufacture is outsourced). Anyway, I think hardly anyone outside Taiwan will buy a HTC phone. It's not the old HTC at all. In Taiwan it might sell OK but that will be about it

I Just Read, 14 Aug 2023I don't know why but only the U23 pro is listed on t... moreWhy don't you compare to Poco F5 or F5 Pro? 🤣 It cost €380 and €500.. People really make 13 Lite to be remembered in fact nobody cares that phone.
