Aierlan, 14 Aug 2023The Xiaomi brand is not cheap at all though these days. No ... moreThat's true because Lei Jun did announce recently that they would make premium phones for Xiaomi brands to have competition with Samsung and Apple brands. It's a business strategy.
My gripes are focusing on their software which somehow frustrates me the most with is lack of update. My experience with their phones has to do with random green lines on their display, buggy camera and also wiping out my entire photo and video data so that's that for Xiaomi for me.
Probably Chinese phone updates specifically work well only in China but internationally not really.

Tyas, 14 Aug 2023Samsung UI is full of bloatware. Long time ago I've us... moreCome on, man. S5 is like years ago which Android phones are in their early-mid stages of development which had bloatware and I agree with that. Now that we're in 2023, I could see Samsung had optimized their One UI enough to optimized or keeping Samsung apps to what you actually need (You can delete the unnecessary Samsung apps that you don't need anyway)
Again, Samsung do keeps up to date which I appreciate along for that improvement.

I still respect Xiaomi for phones like Poco F5 and Redmi 12 5G. But they really need to do something different other than be the budget brand. They have the potential to innovate but they are comfortable with just selling the same budget phones.

CEO of company is last person you should listen to as for 99% of time they have no idea what and where is made by company, and they are interested only on numbers that financial team send him, and what to say in front of camera after marketing team send him script.

Anonymous, 14 Aug 2023"Until you see that their software policy is utter gar... moreI have a Redmi k60 pro which is their k series flagship. I got an update late last week but it was the first in nearly 4 and a half months since the end of March. All that was in the update was the July security patch, no optimisations at all. Before this update it was on the February security patch in August. That's pretty bad software support for a Redmi flagship from this year. It's disappointing that they provide so little in the way of software optimisation. The camera received just one update altogether and it was very minor. Definitely, the worst of the Chinese brands I've used in recent years software wise. Even the moto edge s was a lot better for updates in the early stages. It had at least 7 camera updates for example.

AnonD-1044551, 14 Aug 2023S5 of how many years ago...My A33 occasionally lags when performing gestures and switching between background apps despite having 8gb ram. It was smoother and had better standby battery drain when on oneui 4.1. Unfortunately, the stereotype that Samsung phones get worse after updates is still true for their budget and midrange models.

When I've flashed last official firmware, phone was booting about 2 minutes and I have lags in launcher. If you want fastest Android, your only variant is AOSP.
