Most people don't buy a new phone every year, so wouldn't it be nice to have one that has way more processing power, RAM, etc. than you need so that in two or three years, your phone is still pretty good?
If you ask me, things are much better now than they were two years ago, when you'd buy a phone and in six months it would be totally outclassed in every way.

If only they could design the Note III body like they did in F110 or at least in i900 Omnia or F480. Simplicity with a premium feel, then the 200+ grams for its weight won't even matter. For sure, the ugly rounded plastic on S3, S4, Note II, Note 8, etc were boring.
3gigs RAM, 6", s-pen, 8 cores, these are mean business, professional tasks (not only primary telephony activity) then its should be PREMIUM on its look.
I remember several years ago how HTC Shift sit in its throne for months, for its premium look along with its premium specifications and haedwares. Weight didn't matter for sure, plastic just really matter.

Funny isn't it. Samsung announce octa core but only quad core will reach to the end user.. lame... Remember what happen to S4? They announced it as Octa core but what they distribute to the market mostly quad core.

Comeon.. Now since technology has developed so much, companies should now try to improve hardware and looks of smartphones! And make the software more stable and more feature rich!

It is not fair to compare a full computer hardware, with powerful specs and higher battery consumption...
It is not fair to compare an Mobile Processor to a computer processor...
Mobile hardware are designed for lower battery consumption and smaller devices... It is needed for the phone to stay longer...
Computer hardware, on the other hand, is designed for more powerful operation and higher power consumption...(because you will have a bigger battery or you will just plug it in the socket)

I expect the newer version of mobile phone especially a tab type should possess something special ...Like Virtual multi sim slot,Guest login,100% water proof and virtual beam keypad etc etc...and should be a handy type...

Though not as powerful as computer... Mobile OS are advancing...
Phones nowadays are not only used for calls and texts... They are used to be a portable computer when computers are not present... I don't think you will use your phone when you are using computer (except for basic phone functions and some others)
Smartphones are becoming more advanced, you can do things that your computer can do...
So if you don't want lags... Then these phones are not for you... Because all smartphone lags... Android, iOS and WP devices... They all lag...
Why people make smartphones in the first place? Because they need to do more than just texting and calling... They need to browse the web, play games, make some document and more... Those are function of computers... With added capabilities like Camera, Multimedia player and others...
They are not putting more cores and more RAM to remove lag... It is for more functions... Better multitasking, smoother interface and more... To make your phone more powerful...

It is actually not even funny anymore. 3Gig's of RAM 8 core CPU for 1080p 6 inch display "smartphone". It does not need theis hardware as it is just not capable of using it. My PC has 2 core CPU, 3Gb Ramn, 720p display it is much cheaper and like million times more useful than this crap.

whats with samsung and mali GPU's they use it in S2 S3 now note 3 :/ mali 400mp is a GPU from 2008 and samsung is still using it just a 8 core revision. i expected atleast T604 for it.

AnonD-123779, 02 May 2013yes i can understand u r hurt. but truth is s4 lagsno it does not at all, we have already discussed this and your proof is posting month old videos of pre release software on an unfinished galaxy s4, which did show lag, i have sold around 150 of these in my store and in setting them up have seen no problems so far, unless they are used all day without app management, all the high end phones do not suffer, if anything you should be slagging of google rather then being petty and targeting samsung, because of the the way its OS is designed, is it not something to do with java. typical petty behavior from an uneducated fanboy.
