Anonymous, 28 Aug 2023Thats your fault for using 100USD Android phone for 15 year... more'low level of logic thinking'? Mate, you cannot even understand my comment. I've moved out from android after 15 years of using it - means I did use android for 15 years - actualy since HTC HD2. When I was partitioning and changing android filesystem for custom roms you didn't even know how to turn your device ON. I have had always one of the most expensive androids (changed every few months). I could actually easily afford these, because my 'level of logic thinking' is much, much higher than average person (definitevely yours) boosted by an impeccable education what reflects on my job title and in my bank :)

"at this rate the upcoming version of the os will never reach stable status?" why do you say that? what's the rush? its just software for pixel phones. i've followed this page for years but this comment, whoever did it, it just sounds wrong, man. idk you guys but i rather wait months to get a good finished product instead of getting something half baked. so yeah, idc if it will never reach stable and neither should you.

You've made my day. I have recently moved from Android to iOS after 15 years. It is the buggiest os I ever used. Already started research for new android. Can't stay next to iOS bugs, problems. This phone (and Apple Watch and MacBook m2) requires restart everyday for kind of good functioning... I keep asking myself everyday how tf people keep buying apple? What is the reason for it? Do they really don't notice it? Do they really don't use simple smb? clipboard?

404, 27 Aug 2023Well that's the problem from most vendors, not from Go... moreSure, but it makes whatever Google does on Android practically meaningless as it will take half a decade for at least half of the user base to be on the APIs from half a decade ago. Google should just stop announcing Android versions, and simply do smaller updates continuously like Chrome.

Anonymous, 26 Aug 2023People who comment bad things about frequently software upd... moreI think you also don't know what previous commenters mean. They don't need to release major update yearly. They can at least release new major updates that includes new feature every 2-3 years while keep maintaining the software security patch every month so everytime there's a major updates, it can be far more "exciting", rather than release some major updates every year with "not-that-much" new features and improvement. This is what Microsoft do with their Windows.

potato4k, 26 Aug 2023Good news. Majority of Android users won’t even see or get ... moreMy current phone had android 10 in 2020 when i bought it anew.
In 2023 my phone have android 12.
I don't think my phone will get any future android update thus it is stuck with android 12.
I will not buy a phone untill 2025 so i will probably buy a phone with android 16 if it becomes available in future.
So, till then will continue to use android 12.

It's understandable that the testing phase now takes longer and is more complicated. Before, Google had to test 2 devices. A phone and a very similar, slightly older phone. Now, it's spread across like a dozen phones, with some vast differences among them, a foldable and a tablet.

It seems author would rather have a half baked OS full of issues as long as it's early/on time. Is there nothing else to complain about?
Release as many betas as it takes for a good experience 👍
