Resolution can be deceiving, if they want to they can up the resolution to 720p and keep the file sizes the same. Non-technical people don't understand it anyways. I'm not holding my breath for the video quality to be good even with this change.

They make 8K TVs, 4K gaming and whatnot but they can't hold a steady HD/FHD call? 5G? We also have WIFI6, internet speeds like never before. Every call/video tagged as HD or FHD over internet looks like 480p. Remember, we are almost in 2024. Oh, and stop Mars and Titanic trips.

Actually i didn't care about HD Video support, cause i always send files "as documents", file is in original state.

Well atleast they woke up finally but lot more to do. When they are going to remove the 30 sec cap on watsapp video status? And most annoying thing is their app features are completely different in IOS and Android. We cannot save photos or videos from chats in Android and forced to auto download them to gallery. So, we have to delete the photos and just we don't want everytime. What a shame. Also with a left swipe on chat we can clear the chat without even reading the messages inside chat in IOS whereas in Android they tuck this clear chat option inside chat menu. So again we are forced to go inside chat which means we read the messages to clear them. Again a shameful feature. Why so much difference in options on Android and IOS for same app? The app should have same user experience on both. Is Apple forcing them for better UI or these companies indirectly supporting Apple? Google looks like just ignoring these things on its platform.

                          Telegram is much better.

I like the latest WhatsApp changes. They should add full HD support and the option to send original images with EXIF too.

Also let me name conversations without having to enter the number into my contacts.

And a personal simplified Instagram tab with thumbnail gallery view where you can add a few images would be nice. This is so you can have a few pictures as an introduction of yourself.

Al Masjid Al Aqsa, 26 Aug 2023No 60 fps??have you turn on HD option?

Al Masjid Al Aqsa, 26 Aug 2023No 60 fps??I sent an HD video and apparently it allows 60fps.
Original video was 60.009 fps, while sent video became 59.953, according to VLC... make what you can make of it.

                                Sent video's bitrate was around 14,639 kb/s (720p), while original video was 80,000 kb/s (in 1080p).

So yes, compared to your original flagship camera, quality will be compromised a bit and its quite acceptable for sharing... some people won't even notice.

                                  I'm confused.
I updated 2 weeks or so on 14/8/2023, and I had gotten HD Video back then.

My version is 2.23.16.76 and I'm in India. And there's no version after it so its latest.
So, Indians are getting it first on their account, is it?

HD? In 2023? Is this a joke?
That should be the standard resolution for sending videos

So now the USA Alphabet soup spy agencies can spy on your videos and feed them to their LLM AI in HD. Great!
