Well comparing specs and the price Xiaomi is a very easy winner no doubts about that.
The only minor thing samsung have better is number of updates which aint much.
Time proven many phones even long time past last update works pretty well.
And google apps and services will continue to work on said phones.
Thus the xiaomi is a very easy winner.

    Xiaomi is not beating Samsung in foldables cos Xiaomi is only available in one market. Otherwise I agree that the chinese (I guess globally lead by Honor soon) will be stepping on Samsungs toes soon unless Samsung also picks up the pace

      Samsung is in 2023 losing against Chinese brands in every category. Only their long update policy is stronger but who will use Galaxy A34 or A54 for 5 years? Max 5% of users? It's a clever marketing trick. They already lost the Flip battle to Motorola RAZR. Now they lost the foldable battle to Xiaomi. A54 lost camera battle against Xiaomi 13 Lite, Redmi Note 12 Pro and Pro+, Motorola Edge 40, Honor 90 etc. And Samsung loses against Chinese phones in budget/midrange price with big black ugly bezels. And charging speed is so slow on all Samsung phones that it's not even funny.

Carriers also keen to keep them in the debt loop by offering "attractive trade-in deals"

                          Samsung's hardware might be antique but boy that camera comparison hurts ! The periscope can't save the day if the main lens is such dumpster fire.

                            OUTSIDE of the USA, you can get pretty much anything, but MOST consumers in the USA still buy from carrier stores because either they are ignorant, or think it is "cheaper" to pay a little each month (which it isn't). Therefore, outside of Apple & Samsung, which is about all you see in a carrier store, you don't have a lot of choice. Plus, unless the phone will WORK on the cell towers in the USA, you are still kind of limited on what will work.

                              There hasn't been a constant restatement of what this is or why it is.
                              Trying to get information years after is a private individuals nightmare

                              It could be collectively, certain events that had led to this
                              or none I list those here

                              1) Networks with the exception of Apple, the network is the dominant player and Xiaomi business model clashes with that of the network.

                              2) The problems Huawei experiencefwith the USA were briefly at Xiaomi door eventually resolved***

                              3) Xiaomi is a volume seller, despite the demand for this flagship it may only generate a small increase in revenue

                              4) The Situation in USA and West is not resolved***
                              This one I feel is uppermost, imagine your premier product near cancelled because of nationalism!

                              It is frustrating not knowing the answer, equally part or none of the above is correct.

                                That would explain why most chinese phones was not released globally, because it would cost more than Samsung.

                                    New Xiaomi Mix Fold series should be priced 800 Euro maximum.

                                      Some phone-profs here are like, if no Samsung I will take Apple and vice versa. How are they replica?
                                      I've tried this 3times, after using oneui for 4yrs but I couldn't. Basically iOS is an incomplete package to recommend over Samsung with what oneui holds.
                                      Presently I'm using a China product and I'm loving it.
                                      Cheaper for what it offers compared to big names out there.

                                        end of september i go for Xiaomi fold fiber black..
                                        I get convinced for the battery life really....Rest looks same both runs everything very nice...
                                        About throtling test maybe is more about the application instead of phone performance
