Mi Devices malfunction or dead due to updates.
But Mi don't take any responsibility.
It's not a customer fault Only mistake the customer did is that they purchased Mi phones.
Now it's your turn to go to Hell.

Tyas, 31 Aug 2023Just buy pixel. Xiaomi flagship phones doesn't cost th... moreI buy phones for myself and not for a future owner, so I don't care about second hand price drops. I haven't had a need for support, so I can't speak of that. However I did once drop my Mi Max one too many times into concrete and when I hastily put back on the back half I destroyed the volume button inside the phone. Getting a two new ones (in case I broke one) online and they costed a total of $1.65, back in 2018.
I like the photos on Xiaomi* more than pixel. I've never been a fan of google's color science, though I do like the other features like photo sphere. Since camera performance is the main separator of phones, I tend to stick to Xiaomi. Still no Oppo Find X6 Pro here either. Not that I am supposed to swap phones this year, but possibly next year.
*I have not played with any new ones since the Leica co-op, so we'll see if that means they loose me as a customer or not.

Considering the market circumstances, I think Xiaomi held up pretty well. They kind of prepared in advance and managed to come up "alive" from the lower market demand. I think this is due to several factors:
- Online flash sales, more brick and mortar stores across several places;
- Competitive Redmi lineup (as usual);
- Support lifecycle has been improving for newer devices;
- MIUI14 works mostly stable and reliably, miles ahead of what MIUI12 was...
- Their strides into the premium segment, while not very successful until now, help create an image of quality around the brand.
I still don't get why they need to release so many Redmi/POCO devices that overlap each other in specs. Because then you see that some of those models are best buys, while others are pure crap and totally not recommended. This "strategy" doesn't make any sense to me...
And for those people who laugh at the ASP of Xiaomi phones, I'd like to remind you that in the Android world, Xiaomi belongs to the norm. Most other Android budget brands sell phones with similar ASPs like Xiaomi does. Samsung of course will have a significantly higher ASP due to their sales in the premium segment, but even then, it's not even close to Apple's.

Anonymous, 30 Aug 2023If revenue is down and profit is up, then the costs need to... moreYes, costs have to be reduced which also results in the profit margin being higher. Xiaomi haven't been heavily reducing prices after a few months (especially for their flagships) which may be part of the reason for the higher profit margins. This year's 618 sales saw very little price reduction on their Xiaomi branded phones compared to previous years. They seem to be keeping stock/inventory lower so they are not forced to sell off at lower prices to get rid of stock

What I don't like about Xiaomi cell phones are the cameras, such as the Mi Mix Fold series, and Xiaomi's flagship cell phones do not have 4K front recording and water resistance, such as IP67 and 68.
