lewein, 01 Sep 2023what? the presentation was for less than 15 minutes? jeeezThey've been very low-key on their phone presentations since 1 II & 10 II released during early days of COVID-19 pandemic and I think Sony has been comfortable with those type of announcements going forward then. They are no longer engaging in MWC, IFA, or big event phone announcement unless it changed again in the future. Short, straightforward.

But no.. 2 actors just clicked some photos and videos.. that's it !
They could have just posted on their social media platform for the announcement - which we already knew.

Example:
Sony Alpha 7R Mark V (A7RV)
Sony Xperia 5 Mark V (X5V)

Example: Apple iPhone 14 now. In ten years iPhone 24. But there is not just one iPhone model but: mini, standard, plus, pro, max.....
So in case of Sony the 5 (Arabic numeral) stays for the model (like iPhone pro, Xiaomi redmi Note) and the second V (Roman number) stays for the iteration of that model (like iPhone pro 14, Redmi Note 12).

Not interesting for me because I buy every top of the range and I have the 1 V. Unfortunately rumors that I hope unfounded report the cancellation of the next Xperia Pro and the Xperia Ace which could have come out of Japan. If this should be confirmed I will continue on the 1 VI
