Garmin has hart rate and GPS sensors much more accurate than typical smartwatches (including Apple). Also there are numerous training statistics. People who use smartwatch mainly for sport or training reasons, finds those very important. If you don't do sport at all, there are not many reasons for choosing Garmin.

It takes them too much time to enable the ECG on my venu 2 plus. It's still disabled in my region (EU).

Had Venu and this was my last Garmin watch.. never again. Samsung is lights year ahead for same money..

A dissappointment for me. It is a stepback from Venu 2 plus since it does not have ECG sensor. When you compare with forerunner 265, Venu 3 is missing lots of things. Ok I don't expect running specific things but they could include navigation features at least. This is just a repackaging of Venu 2 with minor new features. Who needs nap detection? But I need navigation as in Forerunner 265 in a daily nice looking watch that I can wear whole day. I wont buy Forerunner or Fenix they look ugly and they are big and overpriced. Shame on Garmin. Your product segmentation made this device weaker than before. I waited this device since one year, I will skip it for an apple watch.

GinGer, 31 Aug 2023Nice whatch, but why there is no ECG?It has the abaility to do an ECG reading, but in order for the feature to be enabled it needs to go through various regulatory approvals first. Sounds a bit of a luck of the draw whether gramin will enable it eventually or not.

Seems this device has added the ability to respond to notifications with a proper on screen keyboard which is still a fairly rare feature for anything not running wearOS or warchOS.
Given Garmin's fairly robust app gallery, the ability to use the watch as your voice assistant and also the ability to use Garmin pay, this watch qualifies as a full fledged smartwatch IMO (as opposed to "watch shaped fitness bands" like my Huawei GT). So to have a full smartwatch which can also do 10 days on a single charge is pretty compelling as a product IMO.

I have recently purchased Venu 2 Plus back in April. Looking at this promo video, cosmetic looks are just the same with only few features just added to the 3 series. Not a major upgrade from V2P.

Garmin make quality products but the asking price is ridiculously high. They could easily steal a march on Samsung, Google or Apple but not at that price.
