Yikes, even with moderate use the writer couldn't get through a full day? I easily get two days plus night tracking on my Galaxy Watch 5 44mm.. This is just stupid, no improvement where it matters.

Jostian, 07 Sep 2023Needing to charge it every day is just useless! A charge on... moreSure, but let's not forget that the smartwatch features of Garmin watches are bare-bones and judging from the battery numbers you mention, you probably have a Garmin with a MIP screen, not an AMOLED.
These two things can make a lot of difference in energy consumption. When it comes to health/fitness tracking Garmin is among - if not - the best, no doubt about it.
So it all boils down to the user profile: if you want primarily a fitness/health tracker, then an extended battery life makes good sense. I on the other hand, focus more on smartwatch features, so interacting with notifications, being able to dictate answers, making calls via the watch are key to me and I am happy to charge for an hour every other day. At the same time, I use the watch in environments with artificial lighting, so I prefer an AMOLED screen over a MIP one, which is fantastic only outdoors.

Jostian, 07 Sep 2023Needing to charge it every day is just useless! A charge on... moreNeeding to charge it every 30 days is useless!
I have my Casio that stands three years on a battery and is entirely capable of measuring hart rate! Though no 24h health monitoring but who needs that while not being active at all.
See, you fail to grasp the simple fact that all these devices have a different purpose in mind. Garmin lasts amazing amount of time while monitoring health, but try running just one Google Play application on it. Good luck with that!
Mean time WearOS watches generally have shorter life time on a battery, but are so open to third party applications and can do so many things that closed system Garmins can't it's not even in the same solar system, let alone ballpark.
It's all a matter of buying the type of device you need, for what you need, making an informed decision and deciding whether the trade off is acceptable for any person individually. It's not for you, I get it. It still doesn't make those devices useless. They're just not for you. When will people like you learn that your subjective need is not an objective fact?

Needing to charge it every day is just useless! A charge on my Garmin with 24/7 health tracking, a few 30 min GPS runs a week etc. lasts around 30 days between charges, Apple and Samsung have a long way to go. Its absolutely impractical to get this or the Samsung watch if you are an outdoorsy person, your very likely to run out of battery during an activity. No thanks!

The most useless and overpriced piece of tech ever. Not only people nowadays constantly check their phones, now they check watch too. It's all design to overtake your brain for useless things and makes you more addicted.

Meanwhile since Galaxy Watch 4 they are Android only with some functionality only working on Samsung phones.
Also wearos samsung watches have just as terrible battery life as apple one, having GW6 myself.

Sleep tracking even on Galaxy Watch 6 Classic 47 mm is inaccurate!Naps doesn't detect,I don't know why!Comparing with my other watch Huawei Ultimate,Samsung is just a joke as sleep tracking, design, child watch faces!!!Now let's see what Huawei will bring with the new Watch GT 4 from next week at Barcelona!

18 hours is laughable. Apples insistence of needing an apple phone ruins their sales. A standalone watch or lower specced watch like a Galaxy Active that doesn't need an apple phone would sell like hotcakes.

"Requires three different apps for use"
You should know how much apps and plug ins my Galaxy Watch 6 needs on a Samsung phone...
"Sleep tracking is inaccurate"
Quantified Scientist tested a ton of watches, and Apple Watches have the most accurate sleep tracking out of all smartwatches (as for not smartwatches, there are better devices of course)
Luckily I never bought my Galaxy Watch 6 for sleep, it sucks but I don't care.
"Battery life"
If battery life is important one should never get a complex smartwatch like WearOS or WatchOS ones, get a Garming or Huawei for that matter.

With Sleep Focus on the AOD should go off, I use it that way because otherwise you would need to turn it off manually.
And sleeping with your watch = sleep mode = use sleep focus
Anyhow anybody wanting Apple Watch now could get this one instead if the price is right, 41mm goes for 370 euro in my country, and I doubt Series 9 brings anything on the tablet worth waiting, Series 10 at earliest.
Series 8 is fine, but can we rant about how stupid it is that the keyboard does only work for english and has forced auto correct one, even if it is off on your phone?
Yes auto correct on Apple Watch does have it's own always on setting, it doesn't sync your preferance on the iPhone, ridiculous and that's a thing WearOS does many many times better.
