Thanks all. I appreciate your comments, hope I have not crossed anybody's lines, not that I would care that much, since its a world of free speech and all. : ) just kidding.
Those 8MPs especially from Samsung look fine, in comparsion to LGs, I never had faith in LG products, they often disappoint, and fall short in terms of product reliability 'Viewty' for example.
just curious now, to see what would be Nokia's response.

Marwan, 20 Sep 200816M color screens have been around for quite sometime now, ... moreThanks for your info. I knew them all though. All I meant is that this phone will have 16m color screen and it is Touch screen. Which means this is just a non-smart feature phone. 16m touch screen symbian is yet to come out and windows only shows 65k effective color.
They rest of the stuff you have mentioned about camera, are all been sorted out and very well implemented in innov8. As of now Innvo8 takes best picture, not N82. Cheers!

arrrhhh. tired of those stupid comment , commenting on what they don't know. they don't even know what a cameraphone is. ok you will still buy those nokias with the worst soundqualitys and battery lifes ( read the reviews for god sake) and still you're jealous why nokia phones don't have DNSe or 8 mega pixels or better processors or better battery lifes . I bet you pray every day to have an 8 mega pixel phone to say it's better than Innov8 and M8800. come on . when some thing is better , it's just BETTER . don't try to climb the tech wall by blaming other devices. nokia is falling behind samsung in technology. samsung is the world's leader in the electronic world. you can search the google. it's not that difficult.

No need for whatever they said 16m screen. No big dfrent, just marketing gimmick. Better invest on touch wide screen. Its very nice experience using hand for big screen and autorotating such like in iphone. Now thats what we call different xperience, not just whatever they called 16m screen. Keep goin samsung.

the 10 mp was just a reference i know the asian market has a 10 mp camera but the point im making is why do firms stop at the same level surely its better to out do the competition than to copy them until one makes abreak for it and ups the bar, surely you owe it to your customers to produce the best you can not the best everybody can...

Kal, 19 Sep 2008I was expecting this to happen. It can't be win-mobile or s... more16M color screens have been around for quite sometime now, ... All and I mean All, Nseries and Eseries have 16m color screens in addition to many of Nokia 6xxx and 5xxx phones, along with the recent 8800 And 7xxx.
Just felt like I could help letting you know about this little detail. Color depth is not of high importance now, most screens are top-notch, now, its more about screen size and screen resolution, and direct light legibility.
Nokia and Apple are the highest performers when it comes to screens, thus far.
As for this camera-phone saga, I personally think that Nokia's N82, is the world's best camera phone to date. And my opinion is based on overall camera performance, and subsequantly that quality of pictures taken, and the reliability of it.
to capture a photo on a mobile, that mobile has to adapt to various light conditions, activate the camera fast, capture the photo and process it, very very fast. Minimum blur and image distortion, good colors. How many pixels? 5MP is way too good, to capture a spontaneous moment, good photo count per Gigabyte, and crisp photos with great quality.

I am sorry to ask, but did anybody really buy those 8MP camera-phones, aside from us tech-maniacs? What do you think? Who really needs an 8MP camera, that has minimum to none, optical zoom that lacks that possibility of changing its' lens, for a professional photo shoot.
do we really need 8MP camera-phones? I hope GSM-Arena would start a poll about this?

This is Samsung's multimedia flagship phone this year, it will be competing with LG's and SE 8MP flagship phones. Samsung INNOV8 and Samsung Omnia are the Infotainment flagship phones from Samsung, targeting at the Symbian and WM market. This phone will probably be announced in 1 or 2 weeks. I bet you it will have a 3x optical zoom and Xenon flash (just my opinion).

As from now Samsung INNOV8 is Samsung's S60 Flagship while Samsung Omnia is their WM flagship. So this makes M8800 as Samsung's multimedia flagship phone as I mentioned before. You should go looking at Samsung's naming scheme.
