11 September 2023
2023 is officially the year of the Pro Max.

Dam. Australians are buying this because of the specs that GSMarena uploaded. This is why iPhone 15 Pro Max is no 1, it's because of Australians.

The iPhone X was the last time anything significant happened with the iPhone. So unbelievably boring year after year and still the same resolution display whereas others have 3K and 4K screens.

By the way, it's a little troubling how you're basically saying that if everyone else has done something terrible, that gives you the right to do that terrible thing as well.

Why? Because if the A17 doesn’t have it then the M3 family will not since the A17 is the foundation
So we are not interested for what a17 will do but based on the A17 what the M3 family will do

Samsung and others even increased their price for 5g model, apple did not. So it is about time for Apple to do that after 5 years

                  What to expect:
                  1. If no ExmorT form Sony they will be outdated from Xperia 1V
                  2. Less artifacts in Cinema mode (they are big) and better bitrate? At now iPhone 14Pro records Dolby Vision in 30mbps, Xperia 1V HDR10 at 70mbps
                  3. Check HLG 4K low light on YT, its beyond expectation.

justasmile, 11 Sep 2023But the base storage has been bumped up to 256 GB, at least... moreCost of components decrease over time and after a while, the storage could be doubled without additional costs to the phone manufacturer. It's about time for that. Apple did it previously with the 12 Pro having 128gb base storage up from 64gb in the 11 Pro without increasing the price.

Price hike is somehow more acceptable with the Pro Max as it has more upgrades but they could have just called it something else without the Pro naming and just left the non-Max Pro with the same price as last year because the standard and minimal upgrades including the increase in storage do not justify the price hike. Apple knows this too. They increased the price only because they anticipate lower sales so they are just trying to make up for it by increasing their profit margin.

We should be shocked stupid!! Only a 13MP ultrawide? And STILL the dreadful 12.5MP ( but claimed 48MP main cam of the 14Pro Max ) which only resolves THREE Megapixel in its 2x portrait mode. And I bet it will now be priced for a basic 15 Max Pro with the 256GB they force you to buy to get the Pro Res video recording, at between £1500 and £1800 !!
And you can get a far better Huawei, or Xiaomi for much much less that does more, at higher resolution, and better.
I have a 2019 Xiaomi with a 20MP 12mm 35mm equivalent ultrawide that records in Raw, and a main cam (quad bayer like the 14 Max Pro's) that resolves an excellent RAW dng file at 25MP actual resolution from its 108MP sensor. Additionally it has a 2MP macro lens and TWO telephotos, a very good 3x portrait lens that yields great results and a 5x 5MP tele that is uprezzed to 8MP and works fine, and all do dngs, and this is an "old" 2019 android smartphone you can pick up for £250 now and which cost less than £700 new.

I would love an iPhone Pro Max with the same abilities, but at the rate at which Apple are improving on last year's model it will be a decade at least before they catch up with the Xiaomis and Oppos and Huaweis of this world, which is a great shame, as I prefer their OS, I prefer their ergonomics, I prefer their design with the easy to work with as a photographer square edges, and I prefer their online payment security option and general OS security , by a long way....

Why do I feel like this type c port transition means no cable in the box again 😂

Also imo I don't think that thunderbolt speed stuff is happening and especially the thinner bezels. The bezels might get thinner but I don't think Apple is really the type of brand to the thinnest bezels on smartphone
