Ah so it's a dumpoff of unwanted 8G1 chips. Got it.

Still rocking my S20 FE 5G, the true Fan Edition phone and my one reasonable route to a Snapdragon Samsung in 2021. Thankfully the main S23 range rocks the good chips, so my upgrade path is very likely to be to that, it's just a question of which size and when. :)

CasualPerson, 09 Sep 2023For The Note 7 and S20, yes but for the rest, it just mean... moreIt’s worse. The SoC selection would’ve been fine if they just called it the S22 FE instead of S23 FE.
Now it’s a big and clunky heavy phone with big bezel and smaller screen for its size, in addition to the inefficient SoC. I seriously have no clue what Samsung is doing here.

Alongside with S24 using Exynos, anyone outside the US better just buy the S23 now, before they end up with just Exynos S24 and this thing next year when Samsung discontinue it.

Last month paid only 450 euros for a S21 FE 8/256. Perfect compact phone, only 177 g with great camera from S21. This one is 215 g (must be a typo error...?) and same camera as S23 with probably banana lens...

Dr. Watson, 09 Sep 2023I mean, yeah in screen size the S23 FE is smaller. but for ... moreThe rumored size of the S23 FE is almost exactly the same as the size of the A54.

            https://m.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone1=12083&idPhone2=12070

If that ends up being true, then the bezels will be huge.

Ticherhaz, 09 Sep 2023So FE stand for Fans Edition? For The Note 7 and S20, yes
but for the rest, it just means "You're getting a cheaper version of our most hyped up Flagship Phone, which means you're getting an almost 2 year old processor that uses our unstable fabrication instead of the better one that uses TSMC's, and materials that feel really cheap, but hey, you can atleast keep the Telephoto Sensor, and Have a Larger Battery."

this should've used The Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, or at least The 7+ Gen 2, oh well, It's samsung, they can cheap out if they like to

DarlingYext, 09 Sep 2023The display is smaller than the S23+ at only 6.4 inches vs ... moreI mean, yeah in screen size the S23 FE is smaller. but for the overall body:

                  S23+: 157.8 x 76.2 x 7.6 mm
                  S23 FE: 158.0 x 76.5 x 8.2mm

Edit: oop i posted this after your edit lmao

Anonymous, 09 Sep 2023„That's pretty compact“ Bruh it’s larger than S23+.... moreThe display is smaller than the S23+ at only 6.4 inches vs 6.6 inches, so no doubt it's going to have huge bezels like the A54 and that's why it's bigger than the S23+, despite the smaller display. Either that, or the rumored display size is wrong.

                      „That's pretty compact“

Bruh it’s larger than S23+. One day when a new iPhone Pro Max comes out, you will write „at 170x80x10 mm, it‘s pretty compact and almost featherweight at 350 grams“
