What is more dangerous then Pegasus is if this update will cause green line issue or not in the displays.

Privacy has become linked or same as green line in displays. Those manufacturers who did not had any green line in their phones are secured.

But the truth is every phone manufacturer is affected Apple, Google, Samsung, Oppo, Vivo, Xiaomi, Nothing etc.

Oneplus is on another level since it has most number of issues but they have done a commendable job by offering lifetime warranty on green line on all the newer models, unlike Apple, Samsung who didn't even acknowledged.

Also, there are Android security patch released each month, of course it depends of the OEM for it to be released at the right date.

But Google own Android, so let's compare using Google Pixels.

On a Google Pixel you are not stuck on the stock os (stuck trusting the stock os like on unsecure iphone). On a Pixel you can install privacy and security focused ROM like GrapheneOs (with almost no default apps, not even play services/store).

GrapheneOs, can defend against exploitation of unknow vulnerabilies : reducing the attack surface and using exploit mitigation methods. It's also an hardened os with sandbox for some apps (like WebView), provide a more secure boot and other security and privacy features (look at the website features list).

Android being open source you can look at code and create your own ROM, if you want to.

RJ, 10 Sep 2023But if they are fixing the bug with an update......whereas,... moreYou can not escape from Pegasus spyware by updating device. It is created by Israeli govt agency with the help of NSA. (Do you think the spyware was created by noob programmer?). You don't know that NSA have direct access of your backdoor infested apple server. (Google also gave NSA access but android at least is not walled garden.)

I think people here don't know what this is all about. This pegasus is used by various governments, under the guise of national security, to spy on and even falsely implant details on a subject's device to implicate him/her in a fake crime. As of now all phones are vulnerable.
