Anonymous, 11 Sep 2023Card can also be swapped or cloned, cash can be snatched or... moreWell man believe me i use most of that even more but back in summer 2016 i were robbed by paying with my phone on a tesco counter since then i draw my credit card from my phone book case and using contactless payment.
In my country past 10 years everything went digital so most of my pays like rent, electricity, gas, water etc have to send money via bank app to said institutions and companies.
There is no way back.
Sometimes i am missing old post office and paper work or cheques.
Now is mostly everything digital or online this is Slovakia.
Something like US is even worse if you pay lets say 50 dollars by cash they look at you like you came from cave.
And something else is Zanzibar in Tanzania. LIke 99% shops there have to credit card payment only cash. And even if you find one they will charge you way more than you have to pay because Zanizabr is super cheap country. You buy T shir for 10 000 Tanzanian shillings which is rounghly 4 euros and if you paying by card they will charge you almost 2 euros just for paying by card.

Take precautions, be alert, make plans to minimize these scenarios but still if something goes wrong, don't be amazed, it's life.
Make a primary account which is not used for any kind of transaction except one (Only to the secondary account).
And use the secondary account for all the transactions either offline or online.
From primary to secondary only transfer the amount which is required plus a little bit more (Useful for small transactions).
Same goes to your phone number, email id etc.
Your personal account, banking contact should not be used on other services like taxi booking, shopping, forums, social etc.
And these primary accounts nobody should know, except you.
Never store passwords. Anywhere. (Make a little sentence instead of word and add some special characters, will be easy to memorize).
These steps will take some time to setup but once done it will be a peace of mind for you (after getting used to).
