Nokia 6600 ran Symbian 7, and that was definitely a smartphone OS. A 5-second search for "Symbian" on Google reveals, at the top, a link to Wikipedia's entry that starts with "Symbian is a discontinued mobile operating system (OS) and computing platform designed for smartphones".

            Imagine in days gone by when iUsers would Question the configurable Bixby Key or question its worth. These are the same people who will now spend the next 12 Months harping on about how good it is to have a dedicated shortcut button. *sighs*

                After watching some hands on this was pretty disappointing. One tap only shows you the app you'll launch while long pressing launches it. Doesn't do more apps to. No double tap, triple tap or long press per app shortcut. It's just do one thing per time.

                            Finaly apple get turn ooff button because going to settings and looking for turn off there takes a lto of time and is tottaly useless.

                              Samsung ditched it because as someone else already pointed out, you can link the other buttons already to different features.
                              I wrote it yesterda already: the introduction of this button just means Apple has run out of ideas. They even introduce a new button just for the sake of having to talk about and to distinguish from their other models. After the announcement, all YouTubers are going just to talk about this (as they did last year about Dynamic Island) and in a few weeks all of them woul say the button is not necessary.

                                Anton., 12 Sep 2023👀 Samsung 👀Samsung practically already had this feature for years: you can double tap, triple tap and assign different functions for each. For example, open camera on two taps and open an app on triple tap.

                                As usual though, Apple fans will claim it's 'revolutionary and new' when Android brands had this type of feature for years (hell, Huawei even used to have a dedicated 'action button' a while back).

                                  Action button will be amazing, because Hiawei had it on it's Y series back in 2017 and it was amazing. I set it for single, double and triple press and those different actions helped me at times in very shady areas or situations
