The dual-stacked design separates the transistors and photodiode layers which should result in more light capture and better low-light performance.

        I just had to say, read the article, which had an embedded link to Sony Vivo partnering in July 23 and the future release of the X100

        The X90 range released in November 2022 shows Vivo has a plan, not parts of a plan (Guardians of Galaxy) but a plan

        It may be others have seen this but for me it's a first
        You have the X90Pro+, X90 Pro, X90
        The plan I saw was the highest memory X90, was the lowest X90 Pro, and the highest X90 Pro , was the lowest X90 Pro plus

        You get a incremental fluid choice in memory options

        There is no review unfortunately for the Pro+, which uses 8 Gen 2 the others Dimensity 9200

        It will be interesting if this split continues with the X100

        There are a couple of cons in the camera department mentioned in the review, but it is a positive review
        I know not to compare this directly to the Sony 1 V, which has stacked sensors, but I looked at the 1 V to see the potential offering.
        The partnership in theory will address this.

        I am more than convinced top notch companies read GSMArena reviews and address them in the next release

        I added the X90 Pro to my favourites. It was this article that led me to it, and I haven't even looked back at earlier models in the range

        Early days, as only the above 3 phones briefly looked at.

          If you actually take your time and *ACTUALLY* LOOK INTO THE SAMPLE PHOTOS instead of miserably choking yourself on what reviewers feed into your mouth, you'll find out that Oppo's processing isn't "waxy" at all.

          You can't just blindly believe what the reviewer tells you without even trying to object to it or looking into the sample - Oppo's processing is clearly context-aware and selectively removes noise from areas where there are not much details to be retained to begin with.

          Also, no, I'm not interested in how your old garbage digital camera has so much more noise hence produces "natural" looking photos. Noise isn't desirable and is better to be removed if it doesn't hurt detail rendition (unless you prefer to have it in your photo as an intentional, artistic choice), and Find X6 Pro deals with it in an exemplary manner.

                      If Sony can make a 2-Layer Transistor Pixel technology in a 1-inch sensor, we should finally see smartphones reaching ILC image quality.

                      Even lens quality needs to improve proportionately, to see such results.

                        Ok, I have just read Sony's article and there should be indeed less noise in low light conditions. But as far as I understand, this is due to less read noise as you won't capture more light per exposure time because the fill factor is nearly 100% according to wikipedia.

                            Actually, I think this is misunderstood here at gsmarena. Microlenses already lead to a fill factor of nearly 100% according to Wikipedia. This means it should be physically impossible to capture more light per exposure time because nearly 100% of the light is already(!) hitting the photosensitive area. What they probably actually mean is that you can choose a longer exposure time at base Iso (for example 1/100s instead of 1/200s) without blowing out highlights. By choosing a longer exposure time, you capture more light. But this wouldn't really help in low light conditions because in low light conditions one already chooses the longest exposure time without producing a blurry photo (unless there are bright lights where you need to choose a short exposure time at base Iso)

It's just that they have way bigger sensors than smartphone cameras, which means higher-quality photos. I can admit that despite being an advocate of smartphone photography.

                                If the Xperia 1 Mk5 can deliver 1"-type photo quality from a native 1/1.35" sensor, imagine what kind of photo quality we can get from a native 1" sensor. Before long, we might come close to the M43 sensor level of photo quality. I can't wait to see what Sony and BBK Electronics are prepping for next year's premium flagship phone. Evolutions like this are why I'm no longer interested in using a DSLR or Mirrorless camera for everyday casual photography. What you have in your pocket is already more than powerful enough for such a thing.

                                      Great, so there will be even less noise and inversely more details being retained than what we see on Find X6 Pro's already-excellent low-light photos. I can't wait for what they will bring to the table next year (and hopefully they'll start selling phones again where I live).
